Get in!

Toure is set to replace Lovren tomorrow while Lucas is also set to start - which could cause Gerrard to play further up. [Liverpool Echo]

That would be great if that change is going to persist, but it won't. What we really need now is stability and consistency.

James Pearce seems to think Kolo an Lucas will start tomorrow. I'd like to see more of Lucas in the DM with Allen or Can maybe. If we can't score goals then we certainly need to stop leaking them.

I've just read the echo article basically saying Bren is the right man to take us forward and he cannot be blamed for all of the transfer failures (I agree over transfers) that FSG are cool with everything and he will get it right.

Not a chance, they will be stting it , caught totally by surprises and praying we start winning again - I do t buy any if that article - by Sunday night we could be 17th!

If they would have said something about building up the support and back room staff and working with Bren to overcome the issues then ok but to glibly state they back him as he is the right man for the job is terrible - takes us for mugs.

I don't think Mignolet is the main problem we are conceding goals.
It only takes a couple of passes usually and our defence and defensive midfield is split.
Doesn't help that we have more often than not a wing back attacking high up the pitch and a deep lying playmaker in Gerrard who doesn't offer much cover for the back 4.
So to say Simon is the MAIN problem is ridiculous.

One of my heroes - Steve Heighway, 67 today. Signed from non league in 1970 and a star of the first team before the end of the season. Wouldn't happen today, would it?! Happy birthday, big Bamber.

We are all stupid. Outsmarted by the smooth talking N.Irish genius. Liverpool do not play with a defensive midfielder at all, the position (invented by Rodgers) is called a deep lying playmaker! You know a quarterback type tag the Yanks can connect with it. Utter nonsense of course but there it is.
Times must be bad when some here are advocating the inclusion of Lucas Leiva. The walking free kick is just what a shaky keeper and defense do not need.

He's right. In his time, winning teams conceded far fewer goals.

A good run in Europe may very well cover up failures in the league.

The haters need to be hoping for failure tonight.

Imagine, finishing outside the top 4, but making the final of the champions league.....

Someone has to replace Gerrard in that position though. Wether it is Lucas, Can or Allen, I'd just love to see us try it for a run of games.
2013/2014 stats for Lucas.
64 successful tackles out of 149 attempts.
60 fouls in 27 games.

Ok, that foul stat is piss poor.
A proper CDM is needed in January. We won't buy one though.

We were privileged to watch the very best in Mascherano. That position would be best given to Can or Henderson out of the current squad imo. Both are strong and mobile and although they are not outright DM's they would do the job well. They certainly wouldn't be standing on the toe's of the central defenders the way Gerrard often does. Every time I see him receiving the ball with his back to the play I expect trouble.

I'd be ok with that but it won't happen. We've looked as bad in Europe as in other games.

"However, the criticism comes, whether it is deserved or not, you won’t like it as a player. But you just have to ignore it, not listen to it."

OR how about taking it on board and pulling your fecking fingers out and trying a bit harder?!
