So in effect £36m for Bony? When we could have probably snapped him up for around £20m just 4 months ago? Are you one of the members of this secretive 'transfer committee'? hehe

I'd be very wary of Bony. Sure he's banging the goals in and for a longer period, but he could be another Michu.
I doubt that very much. Bony has banged them in consistently every season he has played professional football, as well as having a 1 in 3 record at international level.

Michu was a one-season-wonder because of injury and unrest in the camp - I have no doubt an injury-free, happy Michu could replicate his form of his first season with us. Unfortunately, he has arthritic ankles and is struggling to get into a poor Napoli side.

I'd be a bit worried about this if I was a Liverpool fan: "We've seen it isn't really his game."

Pretty sure everyone knew it wasn't before signing him...

Agreed.

I hoped for the best when he signed but we've acquired a lazy, uninterested, unexciting, boring lead weight of a striker. Less he plays and the quicker he's offloaded the better.

Doesn't seem anyone is worried then -
Seems to me this is more Brendan saying 'I told you so' to the Committee

Hands on heart , out of the 23 players BWB has signed just how many have been good signings ?

I reckon the 2 or 3 that are ok would have been BWB signings & the other 20 or so that are duff's are all down to the commitee.

I'd rather we signed a striker who can play across a front 3. Can't see Bony playing wide.
That Andy Carroll at West Ham seems ok.

Well I'd be worried my team's management couldn't see the total obvious before signing him. Don't know why you wouldn't be.

The Balotelli signing was a gamble with a need to adapt the style of play to accommodate the big (lazy) man. However, with the right style of play he is still a quality player, it's just that the existing squad isn't set up to fit around him and redeveloping the whole squad to slot Mario in seems like a retrograde step.

Having tried to sign Sanchez and enquired about others and failed to land any big fish I think the club was in a no choice situation where a punt was deemed to be worthwhile. As a moneyball type signing, £16m for Balotelli makes an awful lot of sense. However, I'm not convinced the Manager wanted him.

I find the Borini situation altogether more confusing. He is one of the Manager's choices having worked with him before. I thought he did OK in a Sunderland shirt and, having stayed, should have been given a run in the side to try him out. If nothing else it may put him in the shop window if he's going to be sold. There's something there which just doesn't seem right. However, given where he's at now he needs to be sold ASAP. The shame will be that his January price will probably be a few million down on the figures being mentioned in the summer.

Cavani to Arsenal for £50m, as mooted in today's papers, would be very interesting. I don't think top 4 is out of sight yet, when you look at anyone apart from the top two, there is no consistency (acknowledging Man U's recent good run. BTW, how many of van Gaal's signings have been key in that?).

One thing is for sure. Any club who we approach for a striker is going to be looking to cash in. No striker equals no top 4 IMO. I wonder if we'll try and get Origi back early. We need Lucas to stay, too, which isn't something I thought I'd be typing several years ago.

I was joking smile basically saying they can take Mario for a few mil.
I think Balotelli could do well in the squad when Sturridge is back but he has very little workrate.
He is a poor Berbatov and a very, very poor Ibrahimovic.

Because it is just a game and certain aspects of it are out of our hands so why would we worry?
This doesn't mean we are lesser fans, just ones who don't spend every minute worrying about the behind the scenes stuff.

Here is the list and hand on heart is how i feel about them all.

Fabio Borini. Miss, actually think he could be an ok striker but sadly not for us.
Joe Allen. Miss, just not good enough, at all, ever.
Oussama Assaidi. I thought he showed excellent skill, not given a real chance in my opinion.
Nuri Sahin. Not given a chance.
Samed Yesil. Don't know.
Daniel Sturridge. Hit last season definitely, have his true colours shown this season, injury prone?
Philippe Coutinho. Hit but like every footballer can go missing.
João Carlos Teixeira. Don't know yet.
Luis Alberto. Miss.
Iago Aspas. Miss.
Simon Mignolet. Miss. Awesome instinctive shot stopper, horrendous decision maker.
Kolo Touré. Hit. Been ok at times. Good natural defender but getting on.
Aly Cissokho. Miss.
Mamadou Sakho. Hit. I genuinely think he would be very good in the right partnership.
Tiago Ilori. Don't know yet.
Victor Moses. Miss.
Rickie Lambert. Miss. Didn't need him.
Adam Lallana. Hit, has been injured.
Emre Can. Hit.
Lazar Markovic. Hit. Starting to show some promise, got some excellent tricks up his sleeve.
Dejan Lovren. Hit. Same as Sakho, could be good with the right men around him.
Divick Origi. Don't know.
Javier Manquillo. Hit, I like him, very young though so a bit raw.
Alberto Moreno. Hit for me.
Mario Balotelli. Miss. Can't stand the lazy tt.

All in all not as back as the masses would have us think in my eyes.
9 complete misses.
10 current or hopefully future hits.
4 current don't knows as in on loan or in reserves.
2 not given a chance

All in my opinion, as in MY opinion. This is not to start world war three.

Has anyone paid for membership on the lfc site?

I tried (and failed) to get tickets from general sale, as this appears to be the only way to get them, for the NYD match against Leicester.

It seems that members can apply a few days before the game for season ticketholders who have given up their seat for the match and sell it on at the normal retail value. The 'second chance' kinda thing. Like a general sale but for members.

Thing is, membership at £30, is the chance of actually getting tickets by this means a waste of £30 membership? I can imagine the success rate of getting the ticket from a season holder is low due to the high demand? Just after pointers really. It's annoying how general sale tickets are like gold-dust, and I dont trust any after-market ticket sellers online.
