Ah Rob Jones. What a right back he could have been without the injury problems.

Well he never scored very often for us when he was in his prime, so I can't see it happening today...

Quite high odds then. Speaks volumes about our back line that a 37-year old without a great scoring record gets 7/2 to score.

I'd swap Gerrard for Lallana and keep everyone else the same as mid week. Maybe bring Gerrard on for the last 20 mins. Johnson as a wing back? Only if we need to rest Laser imo. The likes of Allen and Mario are squad fillers in this formation, I wouldn't play them at all.

Lucas and Henderson are looking very good together in centre midfield. It'll be a good game and I'm sure Heskey will be welcomed back with cheers.

Welcome back RT beer

I agree with keeping the team as similar as possible, they are starting to really gel and the more they play together hopefully the stronger that will get.

We have a big month of games coming up which could easily decide if we get top 4 or not , So we need to be keeping the good results coming.

I disagree chaps. We should retain the personnel, play a strong team but we have to have one eye on Tuesday and then just as important next weekend against West ham.

I would rest Gerrard, Coutinho or Sterling also. Maybe thrown Rossiter in place of Lucas also. We should have enough to beat Bolton and rest a few players. Give opportunity to players like Ibe (unless he is ineligible)

I'm not one for really bothering about what's going on in other folks' backyards but the treatment of Moyes is looking more and more ugly by the week. LvG has had buckets of cash Moyes wasn't allowed and has wheeled out excuses much lamer than Moyes with nothing like the panning. Strikes me as all being a bit odd.

Moyes should have had a second season.

Look at us, bad start to the year and we desperately need a change of fortune ( which we have had). It depends how the second half of the season plays out but it is looking like the new platters have taken time to adapt to what is expected of them.

Would be nice to see a convincing performance from us today - regardless of the team we put out. As BR has openly stated some silverware is needed, I hope he'll put out a strong team

I don't think we had a change of fortune we had a major change to our playing style , early on for months Bren played as if Suarez was still here but he wasn't, once Lucas came in and Mario dropped out and we went to 3-4-2-1 or 3-5-2 the stability came and we picked up points. Also a favourable run of games helped confidence and that confidence was evident in spades on Tuesday against the Chavs

Hadn't Moyes lost the confidence of the players though?

Brendan had earned respect from the players from previous season.
