More than a few rumours over Sterling stalling - we cannot know if this is true or not however do we think

A, He wont get much better than this, flog him for £30m
B, He is our future we must keep him at any cost

Yesterday when they announced the team, the star player is announced last with gusto - yesterday it was Sterling it used to be Suarez then it was Gerrard, so the announcer thinks Sterling is the real deal.

I would prefer him to stay, his raw talent is there to see but only time will tell whether it gets honed or not. His decision making seems good but finishing is atrocious at times so that needs work more than anything.

Rodgers: "Balotelli is not good enough"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30971115

Perhaps feeling a bit demoralised from paper talk about potentially being sold/loaned over January?

On a separate note, am a bit disappointed we didn't get to see Rossiter get some game time and that Ibe not involved at all. What is the point in recalling him if he can't even make the squad. FA Cup for me, would be the perfect setting to bed these young players in.

BR came out before the game and said - carefully worded 0 there was no problem at all with Sterling and he was very happy at the club and with how he and they were going. He expected a deal done very very soon. The inference seemed to be that his agent was being difficult.

Sterling doesn't have any natural loyalty to us. He'd be weighing up lifestyle, money and of course playing at the highest level. Not sure if he'd travel well overseas, he is young though. The world is his oyster as they say. The question I think he's asking himself is whether the club can match his ambition, and not for one minute do I think this is about how much we are proposing to pay him.

As good as he is , he's not good enough yet for Real, Barca or Bayern, So that leaves PSG ? Unlikely or City or Chelsea if he wants to return to London. I think he'd be better off staying at Liverpool at least for a couple more years.

Do we know why he's stalling ? is it Money ?

Sterling could well be another one season wonder so I wouldn't get too excited until he's pulling up trees like Bale and Suarez did. He ran out of steam in Brazil and his finshing is very poor. He needs a strong last-half-season and to operating on a different level next season in order to convince.

What as in he was a star last year and everyone ( not just LFC fans ) were applauding him.
And he has carried it on this year, improving in areas all the time.

Sounds like a one season wonder to me.

Haha funny hearing all this ste about Sterling. So many people saying he is crap ir trying to compare him to 20 year old Messi's and Ronaldos. hehe he isn't ever going to be world class. He'll never play for Barcelona or Real Madrid but he is certainly good enough for us right now.
Now that Sturridge is in full training we'll soon see them linking up.
Just got to keep Sturridge fit now.

My gut is, FSG will want a no other premiership club clause in the contract. Sterling, being a london lad, would fancy gunners or other london clubs, i am guessing element of it.

Money will be a part, FSG will be offering on of these new incentivised contracts, £120k a week if he scores winning goals, we win FA cup, champions league etc, His agent is i would guess pushing for £150k flat, and why not, look at what Utd are now paying for Tia Maria, and what he produces? He is one of Europes hottest young talents, Real just paid a 16 year old 60-80k a week, so Liverpool's £100k offer might not look to great in that context, for a player now showing that potential, and scoring goals most weeks. As RT says he doesnt have the bond with the club like SG had, we didn't sign him at 7 years old and bring him through. Only up side is we have 2 ready made replacments coming through, one of which is Ibe.

If we don't get top 4, and someone bids £45m for him, i am guessing he would go.

This is Anfield reported this Sunday morning (I posted yesterday). So the "training tomorrow" is today. Let's hope he's not injured by teatime...

West Ham could be tricky and a definite '6 pointer' with their league position - so DS on for half an hour tomorrow and longer on sat would be perfect

My personal opinion, I really believe Sterling is way over-hyped by the media. Yes he has a lot of pace, can put in a decent cross or lay on a decent pass and yes he scores the odd goal but for me, he hasn't got enough strength and he tends to go down way too much. I don't think he can ever develop a bigger physicial stature and will always be fairly easy to knock over. The top scorers generally have a physical side to the game, can hold up the ball, take on defenders using their physical presence not just their pace. If someone slapped £30m on the table, I'd take it and run.

Ibe on the other hand for me has more potential. He has the pace, is also a decent passer, can score goals and has the physical stature to be a success in what is a very physical league. There is something about him that reminds me of John Barnes. If I was a betting man, I would say Ibe has the more promising future ahead.

He is 20 years old ffs - look what he is doing now and think back to many of the current best and see what they were doing at 20 - things like finishing, improving final ball will come with age - - how much has he improved since he was 18 to where he is now -= madness to be happy to sell him for 30m
