You have to wonder what is going through Balotelli's head right now whilst he is sat up there in the stands.

Not being involved in the squad today, I wonder if he will be off somewhere before the end of this window.
I hope so

Good team performance all round I thought if a touch toothless in the first half, Sturridge coming on gave us the cutting edge we have desperately been looking for. Good defensive performance as well with the exception of a few calamity moments as is now expected, but another clean sheet.

Looks like beating the teams around us will be crucial in the race for 4th as no one seems to be dropping points.

For anyone who watched, what did Ibe look like when he came on?

A very god result today, another clean sheet and Sturridge scoring on his return.

Surely this has to be the springboard now to push on and get that 4th place.

We have some big games coming up over the next few weeks and we really need to get on some kind of roll.

Ibe looked good, will be an exciting prospect no doubt, with the combination of Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho & Ibe we have a very dynamic attack behind the main striker, leaving Lucas/Henderson/Gerrard to sit a bit deeper.

Oh & MOTM was Coutinho for me, found some fantastic passes, made space for himself & was working hard all game.

Definitely... he's been on fire last few weeks.

He showed no nerves - even took on a 1 on 1 in the box, shimmyed past the defender and got a shot on target.

What could we have done this season had Sturridge stayed fit.

I'm not saying we would be top but I really think we would be 3rd.

We seriously need to keep all this team fit, Coutinho is getting better and better, Sterling just continues to impress and the defence is slowly starting to work.

Good feelings are returning.

Coldest I've been a Anfield all season. Very good second half with 2 excellent goals. Sakho was excellent today at the back also.

Laser was useless and Henderson had a very average game. Lallana was quiet as well. Coutinho and Sterling played very well and with Sturridge back I think it's Lallana who will struggle to get in the starting 11 unless he plays wing back.

We really need our attacking midfielders to learn how to shoot. Should have been 2 0 up at half time.

Totally agree.. going forward we look on a par with last season.. defence looking much better than last season.. Sturridge back in and we are really back in business.. hopefully the missing piece of the jigsaw is now in place.

Just got in and frozen, didnt help that I was in our electric car and the heater is st!! Im happy with that but if we had players who can shoot on target we would have had 5, nice to see a clean sheet as the hammers get a few.

Been said hundreds of times already, we need another striker who is mobile & runs in behind. Still think Lambert is a useful tool in our box as he is a different kind of Striker, Ballo is just an oxygen theif who is stealing a wage, and Borini is a distant 3/4th choice, but at least he shows willing. Overall I think the team is developing well, we seem to be much better (from open play) defensively now we have Lucas covering, we still have rough edges but slowly coming good.

I think we have the most exciting attacking midfield in the league when everyone is fit.
Willian, Oscar and Hazard trump anything in the EPL in that respect.

Had to be content with listening to snippets of todays game on the radio. Like everyone else I was delighted to hear that Studge was coming on, even happier when he scored. By God we've missed him, really looking forward to MoTD later.

Man for man maybe and if it was big names you care for then definitely but as a fluid attacking force working together then it is arguably equal in effectiveness.

Linkies no workies I'm afraid mate smile

Good game today. Thought quite a lot of passes went astray however West Ham looked gash and never in with a shout.
