I think we have the most exciting attacking midfield in the league when everyone is fit.
Willian, Oscar and Hazard trump anything in the EPL in that respect.
Only in trump cards.
if, by "trump cards" you mean 'on the pitch' then yes, yes they do. smile

Our obvious attacking weaknesses compared to Chelsea is that we've got no one to rotate with Sturridge and that our attacking midfielders just don't score enough goals.

Having said that with Sturridge in the team playing ahead of 2 of Coutinho, Sterling and Lallana I'm sure we have enough to score goals against most teams. With the 3 centre back idea working better also my main concern over this newly discovered formation is the right wing back role. Maybe something for the summer along with a central midfielder to replace the disappointment that has been Joe Allen.

West Ham defended in numbers today and tried to play on the counter. Their approach failed today unlike when they played us at home because Sakho destroyed their attacking strength and a midfield with Lucas once again showed the importance he has in the team. Coutinho meanwhile looked like he could create chances no matter how many defenders were played in front of him. Far more effective than Lallana was.

Can't see Lovren getting into this team nor Mario getting on to the bench. That he was absent today from even the squad makes the bringing on of him on Tuesday even more strange.

Good game today. Thought quite a lot of passes went astray however West Ham looked gash and never in with a shout.
Links fixed, though not in your quoted post.

Hazard is a cut above anyone else admitted, Oscar seems to have run out of steam, Williaint I think may be a player we were lucky to miss out on.

Yes - difficult to see a way back for Lovren or Ballotelli. I see Can and Moreno bedded into the team now with Markovic and Lallana also going to feature heavily. If Origi is going to hit the ground running next season that would negate the need to sign another striker in the summer, however, his goalscoring rate for Lille this season does not excite that much!

Quite pleased with the win and clean sheet.

Credit to the manager for turning it around. Good to see IBe getting used.

The one stand out player for me this season is Sakho, he seems to have really developed.

If I was Ibe last night watching MOTD I'd have been disappointed - don't think they even showed him coming on, on the highlights. Never mind his chance.

Southampton beaten by Swansea for the first time in 62 years apparently.
Means that we are 5 points behind Utd who are in 3rd place.

Next 5 games in the league
Everton A
Tottenham H
Southampton A
City H
Burnley H

Tough 5 games there. Stick to our formation we are playing at the moment. Be strong defensively and hope Coutinho and Sterling stay on form, we might do well in them fixtures.

End of Jan and only 5 points off of 3rd and playing well.

It's doable, Man U and Arsenal will be our main contenders but wasn't that always the case?

Can Sturridge please teach the rest of the team to strike a football! He really is a bit special smile

Totally agree its definately do-able.. Can't help pondering over all the missed chances that Sturridge would of burried... note to Sturridge ' make the rest of the players stay behind and show the buggers how to shoot properly please'.. lol

So Transfer Deadline Day. You have £10m to spend, which one player would you go out and buy?

For me, I wouldn't buy a goalkeeper or striker, we obviously need both but trying to get a top quality one in Jan is near impossible. Instead, I would spend it FSG-style on a young potential midfielder. Delle Alli. Seen him a few times in games and he has shed-loads of potential IMO. With Gerrard retiring at the end of the season, Alli would take his position. Scores goals, provides assists, has lots of pace, is strong and speaks well in interviews - comes across as a very mature lad at 18 with his feet firmly on the ground.

Doubtful given that Ayre's opening gambit will be 50p and a packet of Chewits.
