It's a funny old game eh? Because if you actually think about it, Besiktas didn't even turn up until the 2nd half of the 2nd leg, and yet by the end of the night they probably deserved it more than us?
Nothing I can say that hasn't already been said, I watched the 2nd half onward and literally couldn't recognise our team compared to the 1st half. Amazing how we forgot how to play football.

Are we pushing Can too early? Expecting him to play different positions in big games? He is young and a definite future talent, don't want to have his confidence shot so early.
I think Kolo played well last night, especially considering he doesn't even feature in the squad very often.
Lallana should have come on earlier, Sturridge was disappointing in the first half and seems to have picked up a habit of greed that I'm not keen on.
Win at City and this performance will be a distant memory for most of us

I don't really understand the sudden barrage of negative comments from last night. Yes the performance was dire, but we had lots of players coming into the team with little game time and who hadn't played together (was it Toure's 1st game in a back 3 and his 1st game back from the CAF?). Arguably our two best midfielders were rested and we got completely out played in that area, especially going forward and although Cann has the makings to be a great midfield box-to-box player, I would prefer to see him in the back 3 this weekend, as although he does make a couple of mistake, he's brought a sense of calmness to the defense.
It's clear to see that by resting a couple of players for this weekend, clearly Rodgers has prioritised the league and FA cup, which most posters on here have also done. Personally I don't see the issue with going out of the Europa league at this stage, as we know how disruptive the Europa league can be to a league campaign with all the traveling involved and added games.

The morning after - I agree. Less games and frankly, whoever thought playing on Thursday and Sunday is a good idea is a tt (yes, I know its about tv rights). I just hate losing. It's clear to see that by resting a couple of players for this weekend, clearly Rodgers has prioritised the league and FA cup, which most posters on here have also done. Just means we can focus on the FA cup and league, with little/no disruptions.

Bear in mind that the two days prior to the game, everyone on here were saying they'd rather win the Europa than come 4th?

He's always been like that, he'll never change. It's just last year we created that many chances it went unnoticed a lot of the time m3sye said:
RT - For me you have let yourself down here - at least 10 posts after a defeat on penalties - we have beat Spurs and Southampton and you make about 4 posts in total
To be fair he said those were generally good performances, so there was no argument or discussion and therefore he would post less replies. So number of posts don't mean much. The problem is when he says crap like this:RedTrident said:
Not start with Mario and Sturridge away in Europe when we needed to defend rather than at home to Villa or something. Not the same mate and you know it. Neither were the right choices and the risks were there for most to see before a ball had been kicked.

What you on about? We're easily beaten by some Turkish no marks...
Em, just what standard was the opposition... one post says they're nobody, and the other post says they are someone who's good enough to require a defensive setup to avoid defeat against them?RedTrident said:
Season seems to be falling apart. We simply are not creating any genuine chances. Huge game on Sunday. Hopefully Coutinho is back.
No top 4 and no FA Cup final would be a disaster for the club. Huge 3 games coming up for us.
RT when we lost and he realizes he can start ripping into BR again with "justification":No top 4 and no FA Cup final would be a disaster for the club. Huge 3 games coming up for us.

Winning the game is one thing, but playing another 4 teams and winning the competition is another. All things considered, going out now isn't the worst thing that could've happened imo.

Well if you want to analyse it like that you need to see that often, as is the case this time, my post count may be higher because they are in response to other posters picking up/disagreeing with what I posted. But you knew that anyway Sye. I'm sure you're bright enough not to just pick a random stat like that without context. A bit like the WWWWWLL type stuff at the moment. All irrelevant if the loses are when we're getting knocked out of competitions and the wins end up coming too late in a season to get us where we need to be. As for Spurs i remember it being also a very late finish and not getting home from the game until very late. I'm sure if others had disagreed with what I'd said I would have replied more.

Guys the RT baiting needs to stop for the good of the thread.
Sure he has an agenda, just ignore it and move on, everyone is happier that way
Yep. My agenda is for us to once again be the best team in the land. Really couldn't care who was the manager to help us achieve that.Sure he has an agenda, just ignore it and move on, everyone is happier that way

We are 3 points off 3rd? we were 10 behind UTD and are now 2 - and have to play them at home - what you are you on about to late?If he gets us 4th and wins a cup are you still going to be insisting he is a fake and needs to go ??
Why not just give him a chance - its obvious to all he fked up this season but he has rectified his errors and made us the team we expected to be.

I politely and respectfully disagree with ye
I expect the usual input from the usual posters over the last three pages. I've not read it, I know what it says just by scanning the names in the left hand column.
I find that by doing that I can just filter out certain people. If more people did that then certain people wouldn't have anyone to goad and bicker with.
