Someone in the media (can't remember who) suggested that when Gerrard plays his fellow midfielders have a tendency to search him out to let him play the killer ball etc, regardless of other/better options. Without him there they have to step up and do it themselves. Seems to be some truth in that with the recent performances of Allen and Henderson.

I didn't think we'd struggle tonight. I'm surprised some did.

Hard to say really... he looks sharp, but we've killed pretty much all the service to him from midfield.
