I thought about not replying but I will. Again, I'm not trying to wind anybody up. It's an observation from Gerrard's speech that's all. If me commenting about what I think one of your players should have done in the interview winds you up then seriously...

I think I made it pretty clear that lots of players lack class, hell some may say the same about me. But I'm not in the public eye nor a role model to millions. Kids on football pitches emulate what they see on skysports up and down the country and I believe that if they saw a little more humility that would be a good thing.

In the cold light of day what SG did was incomprehensible, however most of us will never experience the adrenalin rush and sheer power of emotion he felt when running on the field and whilst today its easy to look at it from our desks or hammocks or cabs etc and say knobhead I will give him a little slack but still think a man of his experience should have behaved more responsibly.

One thing is he apologised to everyone but not the fans who's second half hope he ruined in 42 seconds.

I may get slated for this but I don't think it was deliberate. Having watched the video again a fair few times He does not change his stride at all he is flat out trying to get a toe to the ball and has Jones approaching to try and beat him.


Yes he definitely catches De gea but I dont think it's deliberate.
