eek - What do we do with such a talented goalscorer - if it was your car you would sell it no matter how much you love it - when he plays he scores, but its when he plays that is affecting us - He has never had that connection with the fans and its always baffled me, he goal scoring record to games played is the best in our history but its just his lack of game time that is killing everything

So that's our best defender and best Striker both out.

I hate to sound miserable but I think that's 4th place gone

It is a funny one indeed. I'm a bit on the fence with him and I can't really explain why but as you say his goalscoring record is excellent but I am just sat here waiting for the next injury (as proved today) and his injuries seem to be ones that take him out of the team for a long long time, it wouldn't surprise me if he was out for the season.
We need to go big in the summer and get a striker that can compete with him and not just be our second striker as we simply cannot rely on Sturridge.

In my realistic dream world our strikers for next season would be

1. A top striker who stays fit and fits into our style of play
2. Sturridge
3. Origi
4. Sterling

I would not cry too much if Borini, Mario and Lambert were sold.

Was pleased to see a packed stadium. Still can't believe Charlie Adam once played for us. There were players who'd hung their boots some time ago still looking in better shape than him.

Stirlings agent making a point about him being a left back, its not about the money apparently. Personally I think we should either play him as one of the front three or sell him.

Tell you what, I really do hope this lad manages to stay injury free now to get his chance.

I agree, complete waste having him as a wingback.

It's a really strange situation. He's probably your best player now (or close enough for it not to matter), and are willing to offer him big money, yet he gets bumped around all over the pitch rather than played in his best position.

Went down like a lead balloon last time I posted but that's my take on it.

Yes that's as good a first 11 as we're going to get. Be interesting to see how we manage without Skrtel and Sturridge.

Wasn't Bale played as left back for a while?

Bale was a left back though, then got moved up the pitch as he developed.

Speaking of top class Welsh players, you'll all be delighted to hear that Allen was phenomenal on Saturday evening.
