Regarding Allen - there was rumours a few months ago Cabaye would be available

Looking at our CM - Lucas, Allen, Henderson, Cann - who you take him ahead of 1 of them and if so who ?

The way we play, whether it be 433 or 343, we only really have room for 2 central midfielders. I'm not sure who gives way but I don't think the 4 we have are strong enough. Allen has hit form recently but he's been pretty average for the majority of his career with us. Will be interesting to see if Lucas forces his way back in now he's fit again.

Does he think he is being clever? Playing arguably our best attacking threat in stupid positions especially when we have players for those positions.

Just fking annoys me.

TalkSPORT are going on and on about Sterling and the contract talks.

What are people's opinions on here? If he/his agent really are asking for £150k + (reported at 180k) then he is definitely going surely?

At what point will the PL financial bubble burst? We only need to look at Serie A to see how things can change.

It's a disgrace is what it is frown

Relax, think of them as the Daily Mail. They are just on the windup trying to get people to call in.

Collymore man, I used to love that guy!

Totally agree - like Henderson - Sterling has just said contracts are nothing to do with me, I pay my agents to sort
They are simply trying to get him his best deal - the Media are then turning this into a media frenzy

I fully expect him to sign.

Do agree with Curlie too - we need to stop playing him RWB, he is one of our 2 biggest threats going forward when confident and to be messing around with him like this is affecting his form. How can he have the freedom to attack when he is constantly worried about getting back to RB

It seems to be one of BR's weaknesses, to accommodate players at the expense of a balanced team?

I'd rather see rotation and Sterling/other players playing in there correct position(s).

Collymore after the Man U game: "Raheem, just sign the contract in front of you and concentrate on your football. If you're his agent listening, stop filling his head with tosh about Real and Barcelona. Nowhere near good enough at the moment".

Hard to argue with that. Yes, he's super valuable to us but much as we want to play him further up the pitch, when he misses chances we all say he's far from the finished article. I'm torn down the middle. Half of me says if he's one of your best players why would you have a problem with paying him one of the highest wages. The other half says he's still got a lot of improving to do and £90k a week with the promise of more when he's made that improvement is not unreasonable either. I just hate the feeling of being held to ransom though.

I have TS on in the car - trips are usually only 15 mins so its bearable. Collymore and Saggers last night were laying into Sterling's (or his agent's) greed last night "if the reports of turning down 180k a week are true".

I don't read newspapers and not bothered to research this. I just assumed it was something they made up. Why would LFC offer him 180k a week? He's not that good. And he never will be if he gets given all the riches now.

3 hours earlier, Adrian Durham was ranting about how he WAS justified in turning down such an enormous sum "if the reports of turning down 180k a week are true". Very funny but more than 10 minutes and I switch him off.

Collymore and Saggers are mentalists, they just shout and talk over each other.

TS can be entertaining, and is great for keeping me awake after shifts.

The money in football is a disgrace, Sterling is a cracking player but Agents and greed are ruining the game. The TV money should go into significantly reducing ticket prices IMO.

180k is complete bullst - he has said he doesn't want to deal with it now and wants to look at the end of the season (Same as Henderson, nothing been made of him)

Daily mail then runs a story - he would turn 180k down - they may as well have put 400k - he has just said he wants to deal with it at the end of the season - its simple - media storm

Also - why do people keep talking about him being the finished article - the lad is 20 ????
The fact that so much is expected of a lad ages 20 shows what talent he is.

People need to get off his back and be happy that we actually have a player of his quality/age playing for us and stop believing ste like TalkSport & DailMail

Don't think anyone here has said they believe what TS and the DM say. Quite the opposite.

A young player like Sterling needs to not only play but also play in the right position. Wing back is stupid.

I'm sure with Sturridge out he'll now become a striker.

Completely, 100% agree with you.

Why is it as fans we can see Sterling was clearly not working at RWB, yet he continued to play Sterling in this position for the WHOLE duration of the game. I commented on here during the game the need to push Sterling further up as he was being completely ineffective in that role yet BR persists playing him there. Just in the same way he persisted playing Gerrard despite his ineffective performances earlier on in the season. Ditto Johnson. Ditto the Chelsea game last season. See a pattern here? BR has a lot of positives that he does bring but one area that he lacks is being able to think on his feet and being a dynamic decision maker - and for me what separates him as a good manager from a great manager.

Must win game on Saturday. 3 points and we're back in it. Lose and at best it'll be the Europa.

For me we do need to start signing some players to help him - to much pressure is on his shoulders at 20 to be our best player week in week out

This summer BR really needs to add 2/3 top players to come into our team and assist with goal scoring and assisting - And stop potentially ruining him by playing him RWB -

Flanners is fit now thank god - hopefully he will take it on...also Lucas is back fit smile
