We all know Rafa would love the job back, but would Fenway like him?

I agree with one small caveat - the FA Cup won't break his tenure but no CL will.

If he gets 4th he's staying.
I totally agree - but lets be honest there is no chance of that , we have some very tough away games.

So who do you really think might want/take the job of LFC manager if BR gets the chop?

Personally, I think Kloop will only want a job with a team that's in the CL, and can challenge clubs like Bayern and Real Madrid. I think he'll be hoping for Man City, it was surely no coincidence that he stated his wish to leave just as the pressure was going on Pellegrine?

Not sure I can think of a manager of the qualities that you need, that would actually want to go to LFC at the moment.

I think you are going to struggle to attract someone better than BR.
Million dollar question - Rumours on mersyside are FSG did want Klopp a while ago and are more than a big fan of him - so he would be obvious choice - would he like Liverpool? not sure, although there is a connection between us a Dortmund, and I am sure he would like the challenge of getting a club like Liverpool back to the top
I am sure there is managers out there with credentials that we dont necessarily know about - sit back and watch, BR might still be in charge next year all I am saying is I think he is under great pressure if he fails this year.

I have heard city really want Pep for season after next and are willing to go £££ big on him - so would they really go after Klopp for 1 year? not sure.

Thing with Klopp and LFC is there are many parallels between Liverpool and Dortmund. Both suffer in the shadows of their big domestic rivals, both have a world-renowned support base who can create a wave of momentum that can carry their teams. The Kop. The Yellow Wall. You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Obviously this year gives people doubts about Klopp but im sure if FSG did go for him they would get the support of the fans

I cannot see City losing two games out of their final games and us winning enough to overtake them

Klopp - he wont go to a team where his players can be bought as soon as they become good, he had enough of that at Dortmund.
Benitez isn't a yes man. Would he really come to us if theres a transfer comitee in place?

Anyone with a reputation is going to want assurances regarding money and transfer control

It could appeal to someone who sees it as an opportunity to take a club with a great history back to the top. But that will take top money.

Anyone else think aiming at top 4 is a bit depressing?

So if FSG are prepared to roll the dice - fair enough.

If not - What's the point?

I like Pochettino. Let's bid for him even if only to see the football forums here get busy!

Agreed - I think we'll be in the same position as we are now with the same points difference at the end of the season.

If we bottle it against the big teams and in non final cup cons what hope do we have if we actually get to a final?...

The Americans are not afraid to spend with the Red Sox. Maybe they see your club as a revenue stream for baseball?

Bearing in mind the last manager I suggested for Liverpool was Roberto Martinez ( rofl ), what about if Klopp goes to City, Pellegrini to Liverpool. He's a decent manager who's taken over an ageing team, some of which aren't the greatest of players.

Where do you think we should be aiming?

This is half the problem Liverpool have - we are not one of the big teams anymore - fan base maybe but not in terms of ability to suceed. We fell behind several years ago and have never caught up.

Us as the fans have to accept what level we are aiming at - until this happens we can't really move forward.

Aiming for top 4 and a cup every year may very well be our level?

If we bust a gut to get in the CL and then play as we did whats the point - no point.

On sunday the
Team was not the best
Formation not the best
Attitude was poor
Desire was poor (unforgiveable)
Tactics after the game started were poor (Some were baffling)
Use of subs was poor

Pretty crap all round

I don't disagree.
Still depressing for an old fart like me though

I'm hoping the post-Gerrard era will kind of be a fresh start for Liverpool, whether that is with BR or not. Last year he was superb for us, but this year he has been more of a distraction.

What is does do is leave a big hole in terms of experience and character with only a few you could say could really step up to the plate (Skrtel, Sakho, ?). I can't include Henderson in that as he wouldn't be a guaranteed starter at the moment

Who realistically do our players go to when good? Barca or Real , maybe being naive here but I dont see us selling to anyone in the prem -
Ronaldo left UTD too so how many clubs realistically can say no to Barca or Real - I dont see FSG selling top players to the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, or City unlike Dortmund would with Bayern... If sterling went to city for 40/50m it would be because we are allowing him to go.

76% want him gone on this LFC site - worrying stat for BR - if he loses all the fans he is really in trouble, shame as this year should have been so much better with what was available.

Good article - http://www.anfieldhq.com/rodgers-our-season-our-si... - im 50/50 I am just now leaning toward FSG not being so generous.

So what I'm reading on here today is everyone (the majority anyway) has come round to RTs way of thinking?

So after a shambolic weekend I am really caught between the two camps, part of me says that no manager has ever been an instant success so give BR at least another season. That being said though can we afford yet another mediocre season? Will the members of the instant gratification generation of fans be able to still support the club or will we descend into a Newcastle type mess??

For what it is worth I think that BR should get another season but the whole transfer policy needs to be reviewed and potentially the back room staff needs to be reviewed.

There's a big difference between what is effectively end of season reflection and review rather consistent personal attacks and desire for your team to fail so the manager is sacked.

RT seems to think that anyone who doesn't want him sacked immediately at any stage since he came in some sort of rabid BR supporter.
