If that striker had worked. 50/50 they might not have worked anyway, and so would have been in a similar situation. That said, I could see a striker that moved around lot creating more chances for other players, even if they didn't get goals themselves.
I know all the Tomking malarky - but whats the stats on 15m players working??? bet its a lot less than 50% - so basically you pay more you have more a chance I would imagine -

You got to be in it to win it, springs to mind. smile
Falcao hasn't exactly worked out and he would have cost a fortune to buy outright.

Not sure even our crazy transfer committee would have risked signing him outright with that injury

It could be argued that he has struggled because there is no incentive for him to settle as he is only on loan?? That assumption relies on him not getting the warm a fuzzy feeling from the manager as well naturally.

But some on here (and elsewhere) were complaining loudly because we weren't considering him last Summer. Bullet dodged, I reckon.

And the opposite - if he did well he could be offered a permanent job.

yes

AIUI we can pull the plug on Falcao and its experiment over, you have paid 16m alone for Balo and could yet have to pay his wages for another 2 years

(IIRC the whole fee for Falcao inc wages was 16m)

I imagine there will be at least 2 clubs in Italy take him - he is nowhere near as bad as he looks - put him in a 2 upfront you see a different Mario - Italians are not stupid and will know this.

I'll bow to your superior knowledge on him as I'll admit he's just an easy target for me (much like Falcao for you guys) I'd assumed he'd burnt his bridges there, think you'll do well to get rid (although I suppose if someone other than BR was in charge you may see a different player)

You have to remember he is 24 and his record in Italy is 46/102, for the national team its 13/33 - 12m would not be bad value for anyone with those stats

Just play him right and dont expect to turn him into a ball hunting suarez type player.

On the bright side, there should be quite a different look to the team next season. Surely they can't be worse than the one we had this year.
