Despite being a Chelsea fan in London, if I'm away from home working or on holiday, I'll always look to see if there's a match on I can see. Crazy really, but I can't seem to resist it. I used to do a lot of overnight stays in N. Lincs to handle a customer there so developed a bit of a soft spot for the mighty Gainsborough Trinity at the time, and saw them about 5 times. I also once saw Raith Rovers and Monaco play on successive days, which is possibly a unique achievement.

Anyway, just been on Viagogo and got my tickets for the biggy. Possibly the most obscure and pointless game I will ever see. Tuesday 31st March, a friendly between Japan & Uzbekistan in Tokyo.

If anyone else fancies it, then believe it or not, there are still tickets available. hehe

I once went to a double header in Malta. 2 Scottish teams, maybe Rangers & Hibs had been drawn against Malteese opposition in European competition, so they used the national stadium & played one game after the other.

Well Japan v Uzbekistan was a cracker. 46K people and a 5-1 home win. Check out the first japanese goal on youtube, worth going just for that.

I do this too. I saw FC Zurich in a 0-0 "thriller" earlier this season whilst I was out there. The standard was L2/Conference at best but the atmosphere and beer was good.

Most obscure game I ever went to was Belgium v Ajax (yes, really) at the old Heysel stadium when I was a kid. An ageing Johan Cruyff turned out for Ajax.
