I was going to post this in one of the club threads but thought it would derail the usual witty banter, so I decided to set up a new thread.....

If you don't want to read the article... Man Utd are first..... and Arsenal are ahead of Liverpool. The mighty Saints are 15th smile

The average league position shows the true 'value' of Chelsea and Manchester City, and even that is heavily skewed by the positions since the cash rolled in.

Our crowd number should change once the work is complete so that may push us up above Arsenal.

I don't think anyone can argue about Man U being No 1, but my club Chelsea apparently are 2nd to Man U in global fanbase and 3rd to Man U and Man City in crowds. That can't be right!

We must be behind Liverpool in global fanbase and due to the size of our ground, behind Arsenal and Liverpool in crowds.

Not by the metric in which they measure 'size of club' by crowd numbers, which is a bit odd. It's the usual DM bks.

Still, the B&W pic of Spurts was noted laugh

List seems pretty fair, good to see some of those iconic famous old pictures when the game seemed so much more honest.

I just can't think of us as a big club. I've been a fan since 1969 and for most of that time we've been pretty crap.

I still can't get over the fact that we have flowers in the toilets. When I started going, we never had toilets in the toilets.

And when you order a burger they ask how you'd like it done!! How do you think ffs, burnt on the outside, ice on the inside, like I've had it for the last 40 years.

You can't get a wagon wheel or a Bovril for love nor money now.

The football is good though.

Other than West Brom, which is a surprise to me, the list looks about. Of course, once Abramovic gets the umbrella tip, Chelsea will fall back to where they have been historically. i.e nowhere.

this list shut some of the direby boys up on the Forest / sheepville facebook banter pages. the rest just argued that it was all wrong.

they are just envious as BC and PT came to us and made it in europe and their board at the time wouldn't back him because they lacked the foresight.

The crowd column seems to be a bit iffy...

We finished top 4 in the season before RA appeared, and appeared in 3 of the 6 FA cup finals before he showed up, winning 2 of them.

But don't let the facts get in the way of a popular myth.

Very.

Chelsea and Man City second and third? Man City had a half empty stadium for a CL game earlier this year didn'tt they?

There are only two clubs who sell out every single away game and it's neither of those two!

Does the crowd thing go back as far as 1888 too ? .. some of the attendances in the 50's & 60's were astonishing & i'm sure the likes of Liverpool & Chelsea were not the big clubs then that they are today.

My club Spurs has a record attendance of 75,038 v Sunderland in 1938 in basically the same stadium that only holds 36,000 or so today & that doesn't include all the freebie entries that the turnstile chaps would have turned a blind eye to'

Would have made the Elf n safety brigade go banana's.

As much as it pains me to say it I think Utd being top is correct. Arsenal whilst having some success recently (as in last 20 years) is more of a surprise being ahead of Liverpool.
