That Depay looks some player, every other team in the world is lucky you have him.biggrin
Certainly happier we ended up with Firminio ahead of him that's for sure...
He strolls around like he has been world player of the year 5x
I cursed when we missed out on him.I also cursed when Spurs got Soldado.

Luckily I am not a scout.biggrin

Europa league winners go in the Champions League.

A point away at Chelsea is hardly the end of the world given their long unbeaten run.

LVG can't still be in charge next season though. We should have eon that game.

I think Utd played pretty well. Not surprising that they shrunk away a bit towards the end - there is not a lot of belief in the side. Still, a good performance overall.

I think we will probably make 4th. If we don't, so be it - you don't get any fewer or any more points than you deserve.

1 nil up and Depay had the easiest chance to square to Schneidelin and he balls'd up. Gave the ball away for Chelsea to score after the counter-attack. Pi55 poor and frankly a bad footballing brain imo.

Depay is taking some serious flak online. Again.

Someone needs to have a word. Or sell him.

Not just a really bad ball but he hardly jogged back to try and win the ball back. Very poor.

I've seen this from other players too. Its why I love Rooney, he always looks like he gives 100%, storming forward and generally looking like everything is important (and it is!). If I was LvG I'd be pointing this out to Depay and telling him he's not playing again in the first team until he shows some more determination! Depay is potentially very good but atm he only has the potential to be good, he's got to prove himself.

I think I would have tried to ship out Memphis on loan in the transfer window. No point not playing that kind of lazy git - he will just poison the dressing room.

Watching the highlights now, can't believe he couldn't make that pass to Schniederlin. Was a certain goal, he was in acres of space. I really want to see him come good because he's got the talent but I don't think he's got the desire.

We were behind that goal and he had tons of space to play it inside to Schneiderlin, but held on too long and then passed it on the outside which was the only option he shouldn't have chosen. And having lost it, he walked back. Totally unacceptable. He needs a huge kick up his huge arse.

He could have played it sooner, MS was more or less dead sq with him so playing it inside the full back wasn't an option, MS was going at a decent rate so he played the right ball, he just played it too late and not very well ...

And he jogged back, he didn't walk (should have pegged it though to put some pressure on the Chelsea guy with the ball). A lot of players don't seem to challenge for the ball in midfield now (unless you're Kante of course) - they just 'get goalside'. He was back behind the ball when Fabregas played the through ball to Costa. Although not in any kind of position, he was just 'back' ...

Deja vu,see my comments on depay after the Arsenal game.

Can't blame him though ,thought Lvg fked up as soon as we scored the goal, bad substitutions ,ten behind the ball with no outlet when we win the ball .
Unfortunately it was a good performance until we scored then we reverted to this sitting back which has cost us repeatedly in games this season .

I don't know why Depay was brought on, considering we had to grind the last 20 mins with our backs to goal. We know he's poor at tracking back. If we wanted a outlet, the Lingard or Martial could provide just as good as Depay, so saw no need for him to come on. Better to have kept Mata who can pass and keep possession.

Was thinking that we have potentially gone through the pain barrier with LvG and now, possibly, we are starting to look like the team we should be. Seems almost a shame to lose him if that's the case.

I've thought that a few times with LvG as manager... always a false dawn tbh.

Ditto.

I still like his use of the youngsters though.
