Not trying to wind up, I though I remembered someone on here a while ago saying you were close to being debt free.

Is the summary from The Guardian wrong? It suggests that not a lot of the debt has been paid off?

Why pay off debt? You're just handicapping yourself. The first thing a debt free club should do is borrow sustainably to invest successfully in the future.

Is it not costing the price of a pretty decent player every year?

You lot owe £90m net and have had a loan of £69m written off and converted to shares so that suggests a larger than before dividend will start to be paid.

Following your logic then you're losing out on a pretty decent player too at the level you compete at in the transfer market tongue out

Self sustaining will be your challenge. Chelsea haven't even come close. You're lucky that the Sheikh has written his £1.25bn off otherwise you'd have a pretty hefty debt too.

Daniel Levy is the highest paid chairmen in the league according to the Guardian.

A good chairman understands that not all debt is bad. Sensible borrowing should be used by any business to free up non-liquid assets into liquid capital.

I think the issue is Chelsea own those rights and they need to cover in the contract and how they can get around using his name on merchandise etc
