Marcus Rashford has scored three minutes into his England debut.
That young man is having quite a year!
Against Australia, which is like scoring against St. Wilfred's ladies second eleven.....don't get too giddy!
Who should he have waited to make his debut against?
Pointless comment, it is far easier scoring against the likes of Australia than a decent team with a decent defence. Do you really think that Australia would be in the Premier League if they were a club team? No..neither do I. Well done to the lad for scoring a goal in an England shirt and I genuinely hope that he sets the Euros alight but it's a bit like Wooney's scoring record for England, lots if his goals against non-descript teams and so don't really count. Pele is the same with his constant banging on about how many goals he has scored at international level, but he fails to mention that alot of his goals were for the Brazilian Army team. Pathetic really. Ironic that some of the less informed utd fans call Wooney "the white pele".
Wahaha, Wayne Wooney, the white Pele....your club is comedy gold.

Louis would've been very pleased with the white Pele. Shame he didn't even get to see the Ginger Pele.
Yep, the club certainly is comedy gold, "the white pele", "the theatre of dreams", "the united way" etc etc and they wonder why fans of other clubs have a poke. Having said that my team has been hilarious over the years but it's something you live with when you are not very good! Don's worry though utd fans, you will get used to it. wink

We seem to have an influx of extra special idiots over the last few days, is it Maureen or did half term start early in some places?
Pray tell what you think is idiotic. These forums are for the exchange of views and banter. They shouldn't be taken too seriously, I respect everyone's views (even yours) but don't necessarily agree.

Scoring goals for England is so easy that Rooney is basically the only player to have done so in any numbers for years.

He has almost twice as many England goals as the rest of the squad combined. They must all be bloody terrible.

I thank you for acknowledging that Wooney's goals have also come against opposition that would struggle in our league two, in fact 13 of his goals have come against San Marino, Croatia and Switzerland but let's not let facts cloud the view from red tinted glasses hey?
I'm a Rangers fan so I certainly don't have ManUtd (or England) glasses on.

A goal is a goal, end of story. Doesn't matter what league you play in a lot of the teams will be relatively crap. Most of Ronaldo or Messi's goals will be against teams considered inferior. Likewise Rooney or anyone else. It's how it works. They're scoring goals BECAUSE the other team is worse than their own team.

FIFA rankings
10 England
14 Switzerland
23 Croatia

Given there are 209 countries on that list 2 of the 3 you quoted are in or near the top 10% of countries on the planet, and very close to England in 'quality'. If you talk complete ste don't be surprised to be called out on it.

Nope, wrong. I simply pointed out the obvious in that he wasn't playing against a defence that would test him. And, I went on to congratulate him and hoped that he would light up the tournament. Hardly putting him down. As for there finally being a young talented striker I think Harry Kane might have something to say about that.
Didn't Harry Kane open his international account against even weaker opposition?

Well you would say that wouldn't you considering who Rangers have been scoring against recently. In fact now that you are back with the big boy (Celtic) you will still be scoring against not very much in that division so I do not expect any other opinion from you.

You also conveniently missed out San Marino plus your little back handed dig at england's standing didn't go unnoticed. I havent checked but were you certain that at the times england played thosse countries the standings wete as they are today? Finally don't swear on a forum it's not big or......etc etc.

Croatia's ranking is pretty consistent.
http://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/association...
Switzerland's slightly less so, but not so much it ranks them anywhere near San Marino.
http://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/association...

But have it your way then, Switzerland and Croatia are ste, England should be pumping 10 past them, bla bla Rooney pish or whatever.

I don't have a dog in the fight, I just can't understand those so quick to jump on someone who in appearances, goals and performances over his career is right up there with the best.

Child-like naivety from you.

When you get a chance to be a grown up do an analysis of Charlton vs Rooney at England level - it is really quite surprising with simple facts that you might even understand.

No, no, no no.....so wrong. Such a shame.

It's so easy to start name calling, calling ManU managers nothing other than st (apart from Mr.Wayward ofcourse, remember, responsible for ManU transfers and signings wink).

It seems your still not quite ready for Uniteds reality, we're here to help you lad, to get you through these painful times.

Let's just take a moment and look at the list of CL competition winners.

Just take a deep breath;

It's what you DESERVE for having a United management full of classless, spineless, clueless, marketing horney Muricans running the show of a club who's in denial for the mistakes made years ago.

I'd say a perfect match:

To those creating an argument following an innocent comment about a member of the Manchester United team doing well in his first few months as a first team player, perhaps bear the posting rules in mind including this one:
...
2 Do not be argumentative for the sake of it or be deliberately contrary.
...
Discussion is the way forward. If you make inflammatory and negative comments, don't be surprised to find others may be upset.
