Despite all the crap Fella took last year, he was one of our most effective (note, note necessarily good) players. That probably said a lot about the team though.

He was good on Friday, rarely gave the ball away, didn't make any of his stupid trademark challenges giving free kicks away. He generally hoovered things up and made simple passes.

Bailly looked very strong and confident, but he does have a mistake and foul in him.

Micky looked very good. One of his first touches was in a very tight spot and he didn't panic and created an attack out of it. I think he will be very exciting.

Micky has been too restricted in appearances so far, those brief minutes he has been on he has really impressed, that rolled pass into pogba for example was sheer class and something we have lacked for 4 or 5 years.I am wondering if jose is keeping him under wraps for the city game ?

Last year Fellani was awful but I suspect thats because he was asked to be creative, and often played in midfield with Schweinsteiger or Carrick which produced the square root of naff all. Or he pushed up and we just lumped the ball to him. At least in this role Jose has asked him to do the simple things, and when you get the ball give it to someone who is more creative. He is physical and excellent defending corners, which alongside Ibra, Bailley and Pogba we suspect we wont concede many from corners or free kicks into our box.

One thing that is immediately apparent this season is simply how much bigger we are now - much more imposing physically. Maybe that's helping Fellaini too, perhaps he was trying to hard to be the big bloke at all ends of the pitch previously.

Ibra, Pogba and Bailly are absolute units.

On the Moyes/transfer front - haven't they signed Donald Love and McNair too?

Moyes has got worse, if anything. Telling a new side that they are st and going to go down is really great for their confidence! Idiot.

Fellaini was better on Friday. He tried nothing so had nothing to cock up. He did the job asked of him well, but pretty much anyone remotely competent could do that job.

Not a bad bet.

If Utd win the PL, it seems to me that Zlatan would very likely be top scorer because (1) he will probably be our top scorer and (2) for Utd to win the PL, City would have to perform badly, making Aguero less likely to score many.

If Aguero manages to stay fit I dread to think how many he will score. Luckily, I selected both Aguero (c) and Zlatan up front in my fantasy team smile

Jesus! I'd hate to see the state of the rest of your squad hehe I had to compromise a midfielder to allow for those two upfront and the chap I chose, Ben Watson, got sent off in the first game of the season!

Any substance to the Fabinho rumours? I see his wife has started following Utd?

Tall, fast, utility player known by Mourinho, seems to tick all the boxes. Can only see him coming in if Darmian leaves though.

If Darmian is on his way then I'd much rather see Valencia (who's made that right back spot his) given a go and backed up by Fosu-Mensah! We've still got Varela to come back off loan too smile

Darmian has looked bang average every time that I have seen him. FBs are often massively overrated. I agree re Fosu-Mensah: he looks very promising.

If Fabinho does come it may be as CDM AIUI he plays there more regularly than RB

If that is right, Mourinho must have no faith in Schneiderlein. He too has been bang average when I have seen him.
