I'm not so sure Sye to be honest, Money doesn't rock everybody's boat, The worlds best players are rich beyond belief & possibly the reason why the top players are flocking to Real, Barca & Munich maybe because they actually want to win stuff on the biggest footballing stage & let's be fair our top sides are nowhere near winning a champions league any time soon.
Sorry bud you missed my point - it was not where the players want to go, I was just making a point Bayern got him cheap for 28m - if it was just UTD after him his price would have been more than that - English clubs are getting hammered for fee's atm (due to TV revenue)
I do understand what you mean & i think your point is probably true but not as much as you think.i just don't think the worlds best players want to come to England anymore , Maybe it's the hustle & bustle of English football or the relentless fixtures that's putting them off, obviously the not quite so good ones are flocking here to earn a decent wage but the top stars don't seem to be so keen.
Unless you know for sure that United were interested in signing him, what they offered, what they were prepared to pay (how much they valued him) and what salary they were prepared to pay, all comments regarding English clubs competiveness in the transfer market are moot.

One thing worth considering though is that the real top players do not transfer between Prem teams. They'd all rather sell them abroad than see them go to their rivals, regardless of price. Different attitude on the continent, where Bayern, Barca & Madrid hoover up all the local talent (not just domestic players but those from abroad who are settled in Germany/Spain).

Your club seems to have mislaid Di Maria.

He's gone now for sure.

From LvG's comment after the PSG game, I think he also is happy for DG to leave - he seems tired of the little rat's moaning. Oh well. Let's get good money for him and buy a fking CB!

What a pussy Di Maria is, no wonder his name has Angel and Maria in it.

Some bloody big names to lose in 1 summer, De gea (top 2 keep in the world) Di Maria & Falcao redface jeeesus especially with Bastians more recent injury record... ({ I read somehwere he has been injured 6 x in the last 2 seasons, and thats with him being back up to Alonso??? ) - not sure if true or not

Whats more a priority CB,GKor ST?

Ramos has signed new deal too

Have you given your password to your kids? That's not far off the worst attempt to WUM on here since the good old days of the Three Spud Stooges

Must need a coffee

Genuinely thought what is more priority - GK,CB, or ST? (Would Romero be number 1 if DDG goes?)

We've bought a keeper, but we won't replace DDG easily

CB has been needed for years, like a CM had been needed since Keane left

ST still needed

My thoughts are that we'llnfind out on Aug 1st - 3rd. New signings with new shirt sponsor, or nobody will be signed.

Was a definite 3/10 effort, much like his team

ADM and Falcao were desperation signings last season, they won't be missed this season. Falcao has clearly lost a yard of pace and will never be the player he was before his injury. ADM is vastly overrated.

Is he? he was brilliant when he came into the team for the 1st 10/12 games??

No doubt UTD will go big they have the money and the name just who is left and available?

I'd say it was more of a 6/20, much more like his team. biggrin

I haven't seen Rooney's performance last night but it's been slated by quite a lot of people and honestly he hasn't filled me with confidence for a while. Only a pre-season game I know but I wouldn't be terribly upset if he became back up for someone else.

I'm sad to see AdM go but his behaviour is ridiculous, so that's softened the blow somewhat. If you judge him on last season alone then yes he's overrated, but you can't forget how good he was for Real Madrid. He's a very very good player, and even though he might have been pretty ste for us the last half of the season I still think we'd need to replace him with somebody of a similar style, our team is lacking in the creative department.

For me we absolutely need a CB, Jones or Blind alongside Smalling is not going to inspire confidence at all. A forward when Di Maria leaves and a striker. A goalkeeper wouldn't be as urgent because I think strengthening our DM position will help cover our GK if we add a top class CB so if Valdes stays I wouldn't mind him being #1.

So do we actually know what Di Maria has done? LVG says he doesn't know where he is, but what's to say he wasn't told to stay behind by whoever does the transfer business?
Now DDG is being called a 'whinging rat'; this is desperation talking.

No, but the manager has said he doesn't know where one of the players is.

He also said Di Maria would join up with the squad in the USA on July 25th, he didn't.

I think it's fair to say he's sulking his way out of United.

The news earlier was that Di Maria should've been on a plane to the US last week, he did not show up. Now ManU do not even know where he is. 1+1=2; he trying to enforce a deal.

Given his very poor performance last season (apart from the first few weeks) I suspect he's been wanting to leave ever since.
