BBC gossip coloumns reporting that after ADM goes United will bid for Pedro and Madrid's Pepe, don't think I want Pepe, he'd be throwing punches left right and centre!

I think Pedro is just a matter of time now, assume we were waiting for AdM deal to be done, I'm massively excited about him, I genuinely think people will be amazed if we get him for £22m

Telegraph are running with a story that LvG wants him to be the right side of a 3 with Rooney and Memphis.

If so

Memphis...Rooney...Pedro

...Mata...

SchweinsteigerLin

Shaw...Rojo..Smalling...Darmian

...fk knows...

Front looks great, not so sure about the back

As good as that team looks (apart from centre back) I just can't help but feel a bit annoyed that there is no academy / youth players in it. Sadly I can see our record of an academy player being in every game for the last god knows how many years, maybe 30??

I know what you mean, however I genuinely think this could be Perera/Pereria? breakthrough season and he looks to be a special talent, add to that Januzaj hopefully rediscovering his mojo and Wilson getting some time and it doesn't look so bad.

Darmian looked quite good from what I saw.
Shaw also looked good, if he can stop getting injured.

Agree and I rate Rojo higher than some, its more Smalling (if he can get a run without injuries think he will be ok) and our GK situation.

Rojo is so-so.
Smalling is appalling.
Jones is st (nothing rhymes with Jones).

I think with a better holding midfield it will help the defence greatly. Also we just need all the defenders to try and stay fit, the constant chopping and changing didn't help anyone. If you a CB and your playing with different pairings constantly no wonder they where all over the show.

Individually Smalling, Jones and Rojos are not exceptional lets hope with a bit of consistency they can get organised and play as a unit. I wonder with Shaw fit and Damian coming in we will stick to a 4 at the back which helps.

Ideally I would have hoped we would have sorted out the De Gea situation and bought another CB but thats life. Will be good to see Blackett and McNair step up and get some game time to come good.

I'm possibly on my own here but I thought Smalling improved fair bit last season and can see him and Rojo being first choice with Evans and Jones as back up. With one of the Sch's in front we should be more solid than last season.

The champs league qualifiers conclude tonight ahead of the next round draw on Friday. Looks like the following could be in our pool: CSKA or Fenerbache, lazio, Brugge, Monaco or Rapid Vienna.

Could change tonight but Sod's law will surely have RVP and Nani back to prove a point if they can beat Shaktar Donesk tonight.

.
I agree about Smalling, his main issue is injuries, if he can put a run together and not get injured I think he will start to look like the defender we were all hoping/expecting him to be

Rojo I thought was ok ish last season and it was his first season in a new league, I would expect him to kick on this season

Pure speculation from what I can see. No worthwhile source.

I would prefer the bid for Kevin De Bruyne rumours to be true.

Spurs are trying to ship Ade and Soldado...they aren't selling Kane as well (this transfer window anyway)

Apparently German authorities denied Spuds request to alter their flight schedule so they will fly home tomorrow and then fly to Manchester on Friday.

Pochetino also said that although Lloris played some minutes tonight he's not sure he's ready for a full 90 (fingers crossed, Vorm looked shocking the other night)
