Utd need to do as well at Goodison as City do at home to Villa.
If Villa can beat Liverpool then as night follows day ...... City will stuff 'em!

Methinks the rat race for 3rd/4th is alive and kicking.

yes

Plenty of points to play for, hoping our injuries weren't long term ones

Reports in the press today saying that Manchester United players are sure that de gea will leave for Real at the end of the season. He's been your best player. He has probably won 15 points for you this year. Maybe 20. Apparently United value him at £50 million and are offering him £140,000 a week to stay at Old Trafford.

Can't say i'd be hugely surprised, I do think it will come to a head one way or another this summer. I would be gutted if he left but we've had big players leave before and we should be somewhat better prepared this time with Valdes and Lindegaard

Be a big loss, and whilst undoubtedly he did win us many points this season, the last 6 games I could have played in nets so little has he had to do.

I really hope Dave signs an extension. He's very likable and a great goalkeeper but I'm sure he'll be back in Madrid one day, just hopefully in the future.

If he does go this summer I'd hope we could use him in some kind of exchange deal even though they rarely seem to happen. Rumours of unhappy Bales and Iscos lying around the place are tempting. biggrin

I very much fear these rumours are true, due once again to unsettled women. It'll be a big blow to the stability we're beginning to see glimmers of but as previously mentioned, the consolation is that Bale seems a 50% possibility for a move. Here's hoping eh?

I'm just not sure about this whole Bale thing, don't get me wrong he is of course very good, but I'd rather sign the next Bale/Ronnie if possible. We need to strengthen in a few areas would be folly to spend so much on one player imo

Agreed. Bale doesn't excite me that much really (I think he's overrated for his price). He'd be incredibly expensive.

I'd prefer Memphis, Hummels and a RB (seems likely to be Clyne but honestly I haven't seen much of him at all) for the price he'd cost.

I thought they were all coming anyway and we'd have extra cash from the worrying loss of DDG to bolster our failing forwards. RvP can't be relied on for a full season even if he survives the summer and I can't see the Falcao thing happening at that price so we are short of help for Rooney.

De Gea is absolutely world class, but £50m would buy us players that could win us more points.

The difference between a world class keeper and a merely excellent keeper is, what, say 5-10 points a year, at most? A good striker and a centre back would make up for that.

Ah man, I don't wanna seem like I am picking on you but I do disagree somewhat

The keeper is so much more than shot stopping, if your defence doesn't have faith in the keeper they start to second guess him and each other and it can lead to calamities. For me personally you build from a solid base at the back and work forward.

We aren't short of money so the only reason we should let DDG go is if he agitates for it, otherwise, especially on current form I'd be letting him name his price. We saw how much it affected us when Schmeichel left until we got VDS. I don't want to go through that again. Besides the only keeper I see that would be anywhere close to DDG is Lloris at Spurs (We'd never get Courtois) and they would take most of that 50m from us.

I can see your point, but we did select terrible (rather than merely excellent) keepers in that period. I agree, though, that the keeper does a lot in terms of instilling confidence in the defence

Can't see how we would get £50m for him. He's got one season left on his contract, we're not in a strong position unless Real want him this summer. I'm sure they'd be happy waiting or low balling us so we don't let him leave for free.

It's purely down to Dave. I just hope he's waiting to see if we'll be in the Champions League.

Agree with that. He may be worth £50m, but that's not what we'd get with him only having 1 year left on his contract.

I really hope he stays, he's been brilliant for us.

"Mats Hummels, £36m, Nathaniel Clyne, £15m, Paul Pogba, £75m, Gareth Bale, £120m, Jackson Martinez, £25m. Next year, we will be champions."

Has Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal revealed his summer transfer targets? Sort of...

The Dutchman was handed a list of suggested squad purchases by a fan on a club community day and gleefully revealed all to the MUTV cameras.

"He didn't tell me who to sell, but after a little pushing, I know," Van Gaal added.

Good year for you guys coming rofl
