In the murky waters that is uniteds transfer business, some stirring has brought some clarity, although often it settles back into murkiness.

Is this related to the Goldstein tweets?

If what he's been told is correct?
Why wouldn't it be, reputable source surely.

Probably not.

Looks like Evans has gone to West Brom for about £6-8m.

Always sad to see a problem my serving player go but it was never going to be now was it?

Net spend of ZERO (so far wink ) this summer window. Not a bad effort considering how much we've strengthened our side!

Not sure of that, but even if true, I do t think that's something for us to be proud of.

What is your expectation for our league finish this year?
I'm struggling to see how we do better than fourth. No CB and no CF. Maybe second choice GK. Less than ideal.

Really ?
Really, really! But mainly because they recouped £44m on Di Maria, after splashing out ~£70m on him last summer.

They are still miles off of a Nett spend of zero

Think some of those figures are actually Euros - the Schweinsteiger fee for instance is widely reported as about £6m. Plus it doesn't include the £6m in from Evans to West Brom.

Of course there really is no point in taking one transfer window in isolation. For instance if you look at Utd's transfers over 2-3 seasons then it paints a different story.

Also, as Loon says, Utd are one of the richest clubs in the world, why aren't the owners spending the money? Maybe they're not willing to back LVG in his last year?

last 10 years uniteds net spend is nearly half of citys ,also well below chelsea.

I think the issue is United are trying to buy the very best payers and they cannot because the clubs dont want to sell them, ronaldo, bale, muller etc .
