I'm not sure how he can make a decision like that when he's not seen him enough in premier league match situations. Maybe he doesn't think he's a good enough crosser of a ball? I'd say he's a better full back than Valencia... better crosser...hmmm that's open to debate. wink
Is this an in-joke that I don't know?

I like Valencia, and he has been a fantastic servant to the club by filling in at RB. He has done a good job.

However, never mind Rafael, I am a better crosser than Valencia. His dinked floaters are worse than Championship standard, and I can remember about 1 of his drilled crosses that has ever worked. He doesn't have a decent whipped ball in his locker...at all. It's not a difficult skill, but he strangely doesn't have it!

I wouldn't pay more than £10-15m for Clyne. He looks fairly good; nothing more than that. A fantastic RB is a rare rare thing, and most clubs do just fine with fairly average ones.

The wind alone could probably cross it better than Valencia.

Smashing balls at the defender's ankles does my head in, and he won't use his left foot to save his own life.

hehe

Personally I have no interest in them to be honest. No particular reason, I just haven't taken notice, I've felt no need to.

But they've done well with the stadium and promotion. It'd be nice to draw them in the FA Cup one day. biggrin

Goes to show from the result last night, We.already have a world class striker, who can do a perfect job of snatching goals when it matters, plays up to the big stage and is happy warming the bench occasionally.

No need for Falcao... Bring back our 'Little Pea'

What about the 302 chances he missed last night? He was even pissing me off and I wanted to see Atletico go through. He scored a tap in created by Ronaldo.

I'd much rather we sold him.

Felt sorry for him to be honest, he looked so rusty....

In terms of movement, he is one of the best strikers that I have ever seen at Utd. He is good, but not great, finisher. He is AWFUL at doing anything other than create opportunities for himself.

If you are that kind of player, you have to be a great finisher, I am afraid. He offers nothing whatsoever outside the box.

Agree completely, seems to be a lovely guy too, really wanted it to happen for him with us but it just hasn't, will always be fondly rememebered though I think

Out of interest, who do you want? Assuming all contracted players are available to buy who would you see getting 20-30 goals a season at OT next year? If we can assume Wayne is #1 and he's the likeliest, who's his 3 understudies, assuming again that a successful team needs 4 strikers.

I know mine and your feelings on Falcao differ but I've no axe to grind, I'm just curious.

No idea, to be frank. I don't have enough knowledge of who is out there and at what price.

I would keep hold of Wilson, but I would not hold onto Falcao unless he suddenly explodes into form, and I would be willing to let VP go for any decent money.

I know this sounds like "Get rid of everyone and bring in....ummm...someone", and I take that on the chin smile

But I really do think that we couldn't do worse than VP and Falcao if we throw £30m at a striker or two (each). If we manage to find someone worse than those two for that kind of money, we need to take a look at our scouting set up and the people paid to make the decisions on transfers.

Keep Falcao and bring in Lacazette from Lyon. Off load RVP.

There isn't a lot of choice out there. Maybe Guizmann at Athletico but the top two in Spain aren't going anywhere. Tevez is top scorer in Italy, Bayern aren't going to sell Lewandowski although he isn't top scorer that's Meier at Frankfurt. Maybe we could have a pop at Muller?

There aren't a lot of realistically available top drawer strikers available.

I'm still thinking about Forlan and him taking the golden boot for being European top scorer after leaving us. The same could happen to Falcao.

Really we should be looking at Messi or Ronaldo if we want guaranteed goals but I can't see that happening.

On present form, Falcao wouldn't be top scorer in his house.

I do hope we keep hold of Falcao. I really do think he'll come good. I find it weird that RVP hasn't had a good season (injuries aside) after linking up with LVG.

Apparently reliable Dutch website says Memphis met with Utd today

http://www.vi.nl/web/nieuws/memphis-voert-geheim-g...

He also posted a pic of himself on Instagram in front of an Under Armour plane (his sponsors)

This could well be on smile

There's definitely goals in those 2 players for me. We've not seen nearly enough of either this season. Funnily enough there's almost no talk of either leaving at season end. At least not that I've seen.

Thanks Keyser, you've just sorted my wet dreams tonight.

I would be very happy if he signed. I think we'll get our business done early this summer which will be a nice change.

thumbup

Me too, I suspect as well as getting them to shorten the preseason tour that LvG has instructed he wants our new signings to be available for it as well, no fking about.

A reputable chap who does know someone on the board reckons they have five transfer targets ,3 of which are 'done or close to being done deals'
But there's still 5 matches to go so let's leave the transfer speculation until the season is done and dusted.
