That would just be the icing on the cake. Got to be a wind up, surely - unless the Hernandez thing has somehow fallen through and LVG doesnt thnk he will get game time

Leverkusen have tweeted Hernandez is done. Its a shame, I always liked him although totally understand his point of view, needs to be playing regularly and didn't look likely under LVG.

No place in the side for Chicarito if you play 1 up front. He cannot play that role. One of the best players I have seen in the box and one of the worst outside the box!

Lots of things have been discussed on this thread so I won't revisit old ground. But something occurred to me tonight and it goes back to the view that we are rebuilding following the latter years of decline under SAF. We have made some good signings this year but we have arguably (almost) sold our best player of the last 2 seasons, sold our most expensive player (albeit perhaps for good reason) and now seen the back of a couple of goalscorers over their careers.

I posted a few days ago that perhaps we can't/won't compete but it does make you wonder/worry at times...
