Looks like Madrid only submitted their first bid of the summer for De Gea yesterday, and its blown up in their faces. Linked with Madrid since the start of the year and they put a bid in just hours before their deadline.

United had at least got their bit done and submitted the papers on time but Madrid blaming Navas now for wanting to make changes and they didn't get the papers to La Liga until near 12.30am.
It's not the Navas deal. The deadline for Spanish clubs to sell players is tonight, so the Navas deal wouldn't have held up the DDG deal.

Anyway, Real Madrid are apparently going to report you guys to UEFA: https://twitter.com/pedropparrado/status/638479823...

Whereas you guys are saying you have a TMS receipt to prove the docs were sent on time: https://twitter.com/DuckerTheTimes/status/63848222...

Doesn't really matter whose fault it was....it's a shambles. RM don't get the player and Man U don't get the £30mil. Not sure what RM's GK options are but Man U will lose out financially.

Be interesting to see de geas reaction , he can't afford to not be playing with the euros looming .
I think i'd like to see his wife's reactions more, I bet she is furious at the prospect of another year looking at the back of the fridge.

It's hilarious. Utd have taught Real a lesson - pissing about and trying to be clever didn't work.

De Gea will have to come back into the team. He'll also have to grow the fk up!

I think this has worked out as well as it could once that horrible little rat had his head turned.

Haven't you guys been pissing about with the deal too? You've requested almost every RM player to be part of the deal at some stage or another!

To be fair , these foreign players come over , they are used to living in big city's , they come here and buy a house in Alderley edge, with a big gate ,the wife/girlfriend speaks no English and they are incredibly isolated and bored .

they think Alderley edge is Manchester .meanwhile their partners have rented a secret shag pad in the city centre for fun nights out.

Oh I am sure Ed Woodward thinks it's hilarious....as he watches £30mil disappear down the plug hole and wages he'll have to pay DDG this year who probably won't be getting picked.

Utd will be trying every bit as hard as RM to get the deal through today.

£30m is a complete irrelevance. It's peanuts. Worth that to let Real know that they can't wait until the last minute after tapping someone up for months. Hugely disrespectful and sharp from Real and it backfired.

Of course De Gea will play. He needs games and Romero is terrible.

Januzai has ended up playing with Hummels, Gundogan and Reus. hehe
Best post by a country mile since the DDG transfer flopped. laugh

We have no idea what's happened really and it's down to which reports you believe. Some will find it amusing to use it to bash United with while it might not be our fault at all. It might be United's fault, who knows at this point? I'm sure there will be some kind of investigation.

United will play DDG and he will want to play if the RM deal doesn't go through. They wont have him sit in the reserves, and he wants to play in Euro 2016 and Spain wont pick him if he hasn't played all season.

I suspect they didn't play him just incase he got injured or cup tied in the champions league.

In what way have you taught them a lesson, what a stupid comment.
You wanted the deal to go through and did everything right, they didn't so how the hell you have turned that into you teaching them a lesson I really don't know.

Sky are reporting that United completed the DDG deal their end on time.
But La Liga received no papers on DDG at all.
I suspect the cock-up theory applies.

It's quite amusing but I think that Utd will come out of it better in footballing terms, if DDG stays until January at least.

Love how all the ABU's were keen to jump on us this morning without all the facts. Talk of us playing games etc

Load of bks, even the pro Real Spanish press are stating its Real and Perez cock up not ours

If he stays, he plays imo, he won't want to miss out on the Euros, he'll just have to get his head down and perform, he'll likley earn a massive signing on fee going for a free anyway

Any chance Real deliberately cocked it up? They save £30m, still have a good keeper this season and then get De Gea anyway. Tempting from their perspective once Navas started playing well.

And Utd do quite well out if it, too.

Why would they have bothered bidding in that case?

Haha. You guys and your ABU obsession! smile I thought you were one of the nice ones wink
I gather you mean elsewhere in the internet world because most on here have said you lot did everything right, me included.

Its just a cock up most likely by them, god knows how but like you said, he has to get his head back in the game and crack on, for his own sake.

There were a couple of posts this morning from people gleefully painting it as our cock up and how we had tried to play games and lost, one of them has a real issue with Utd though so its to be expected, they just look a bit daft now though
