Coz the deal will almost certainly have gone like this.

MU: "Sign a long contract so Real has to pay us loads for you, but we will let you go whenever you want from this summer on"

DG: "Nah"

MU: "Here's a few million squids"

DG: "OK"
I think it woudl be more likely if that was the route that they would have told him he will only play if he signs a new deal .
But I prefer my belief and funnily enough stories are emerging that he is really pissed off with madrid.not only did they fk him around ,but I believe they never came and said dont worry we'll get you in january or in the summer. Navas is a good keeper for madrid in the spanish league, they dont really need de gea.

Its a great signing to get him to sign a new contract especially as he could just walk out next summer for nothing. Certainly seems to me that Real screwing up the transfer showed him that they didn't really want him that much, and where trying to get him on the cheap.

He will eventually go back to spain but this way we get a top world class keeper for another couple of years and he gets a few more quid in his pay packet and gets to be spains first choice in the Euro's.

All in all a good day for United.

LVG in amusing form again at the press conference. As a fan I find his approach with the press spot on. He's never dull.

Done deal for next summer. At least we get one more season and some proper money when he does go. I'm happy to get another season out of him.

Be great if he has a blinder on Saturday.

I guess really that none of us other that ITK-M3sye knew what really happened with this DDG business but it does now look that United have come out far & away better off, i'll hold my hands up & readily say i got it all wrong.

DDG Signing a new deal is excellent news for United & not such good news for Mr Romero & the rest of us non supporting Utd fans.

He's a class act.

So we get our first choice keeper 'back' on the same day Chelski lose theirs.

Ouch.

De Gea - best signing we could have made, a motivated Dave is worth points to us, points that may prove invaluable at season end.

If I look back far enough I'll find my post where I predicted he'd stay. ITK. biggrin

Sorry fellow reds for my lack of posting recently, time poor work heavy at the moment. ATB.
Welcome back.
I've been busy at the 'coal face' too.
Trying to cue up some anti-Scouse dole line here but too worn out.
Great news on DDG. A true mercenary like most EPL players but I don't really care.

Doubt Martial would start but you never kno. Depay could play upfront but we need him on the wing, so most likely fellani (hope not).

Cock.

Martial will never start so I guess it'll be Fellani. This should be fun.

Indeed, he could start his Man Utd career by finally achieving double figures in professional match starts.
