I know we give the scousers a rough ride on here (and rightly so), but this box thingy is brilliant. I've only just set it up as been away a lot over the past 6 weeks and I'm sitting here watching our match vs Everton in full HD.
Superb, thanks.
And on top of that all the films and tv series on Genesis...brilliant piece of kitSuperb, thanks.
Glad you like

Had issues with it in the past but I've reinstalled it on a laptop....what add on is the best for the football? Superb, thanks.

I'll have a look at that today. Again, thanks and time to bin Sky Sports and Movies now, the box will pay for itself in a month
What did you watch Utd v Everton on sat? I couldnt find NBC1080 on sat When you do movies only play HQ or HD never MQ or LQ - althoguh some HQ are not really HQ - just start it and judge yourself
You are best to go to Genesis, movies, HD MOVIES or year then 2015

I used the Phoenix and then Live Sports. I guessed it was HD as the picture was pretty good, but that might just be my TV as the difference between the two is fairly small as the TV is so clear anyway. Loving this gizmo.
Ok guys, so it seems I've plumped for the Betamax option here so is there anything I can do using my 3 month old Windows 10 compact PC?
I bought it with the intention of dumping the Virgin / Sky monopoly on football and using things like offside streams etc but the quality of the streams are pretty poor. Can I get this Kodi or XBMC stuff on it or have I cocked up entirely? Think the Mrs would kill me if I change it or add yet another alongside it, she hates my 'fetish' for gadgets...

Of course you can install kodi,go to the website and download it the run it.It takes a bit of setting up on pc,but there are of useful guides especially on you tube to help.I bought it with the intention of dumping the Virgin / Sky monopoly on football and using things like offside streams etc but the quality of the streams are pretty poor. It's a bit of a fiddle interface I find and not always straight forward, and here is the killer...all you are doing is what you normally do on your pc when you watch offside streams and the like, you are just being directed to the same /similar sites but it's hidden behind an interface.
It he,ps because you avoid those dreaded links where you have pop ups all over the place, but these boxes you use are just very very basic pc's they just have kodi ready installed.
Also you will find issues if your provider is virgin, with quite a lot of kodi programs.
It's good because you'd find stuff quickly compared to laborious searches on the Internet.

Download sopcast & Acestream, and on the day of the match browse reddit/soccerstreams
Don't bother with HTML streams they're awful. the Sopcast/Acestream streams are based on bitorrent tech AFAIK, and IME the quality is great.
You tend to be 5-10 seconds behind 'live' when watching.
I know you're offering advice, but that really doesn't mean anything to me. IT speak really is a different language. Don't bother with HTML streams they're awful. the Sopcast/Acestream streams are based on bitorrent tech AFAIK, and IME the quality is great.

Thanks for the advice chaps, it's the laborious searching and trawling through broken links and all the stupid pop-ups that p's me off. I'm afraid I am indeed with Virgin so while I'll give Kodi a go, if it's blocked by them I'll just carry on or go to the local where they show dodgy 3pm ko's anyway. Only problem there is we live between Manchester & Liverpool so half the time they show the 2nd rate stuff.
