Errrrr?? Big signings? ORD....

Roy Keane.

Bryan Robson.

Pallister was a record for a defender.

fking echo in here.

Andy Cole another massive signing that didn't work, oh and his mate at 12.6 mill, huge at the time, Dwight Yorke if only those two had formed a partnership we might have won the treb....oh....

Yep we are littered with big transfer flops!

No, not really. Not a fan of Bale and although the price is beyond mental, with his speed this could work out very well. Even more so given the way LvG likes to play. Bale as right winger, Depay on the left, Rooney as a striker, add some midfield creativity of DiMaria, Herrera and Mata in the mix.

Sounds great on paper but I'd have had Di Maria over Gary Bale last summer and look how that turned out. But at least Gary is proven to be great in the Prem.

At that price it's just stupid. Half that then sure... Madrid won't let it happen though.

£100m is stupid. Buy 3 players for £30m each and it would have a bigger impact on the team (and leave you £10m to pay the extra wages).

Gareth Bale really confuses me. I watch him and cannot quite see what is so good about him (apart from his pace), but then he bags 3 goals...

Exactly the same here Lord ORD. I see him play quite often and take away his pace, he doesn't seem to be much better than a lot of other players. He doesn't seem as technically brilliant as other players his price but the hype about him was big I guess. Still living off that hat trick at Inter, the screamers for Spurs and dive against Villa. smile

He does score and assist often though, so maybe it's just me...

Sye: Mempheth Debale... I don't know. Bale I guess as he's PL proven, but it'd be embarrassing to pay £100m for him so I'd prefer Depay + other additions.

As lovely as Bale would be 100m is a lot when we need strengthening in other areas, especially if DDG goes the other way!

Good news today that Periera has signed a new contract, proper talent and I was worried we were gonna lose him.

With Memphis and Bale at the price quoted it has to be Memphis for me. If it were €100m then that's about £75-80m which is more palatable.

I guess it depends on how it would impact other signings, if its not an issue to spunk £200m then fk it why not hehe
