An away win with our two top choice strikers out injured? Another disaster! Lots of moaning and wailing to be done.

Depends what matters to you, the results or how we are doing it. I value a bit of qualitative stuff as well as the quantitative.

We showed good energy when we didn't have the ball but our movement when we had it was absolutely non existent.

We got very lucky, with zero entertainment.

After their equaliser, the players showed that they are able to play attacking football. Shame we don't play the full game like this.

Arsenal losing is not a surprise. First spell of cold weather of the season and they can't cope.

I can't believe what I'm watching in the late match. Just shows what attacking football can deliver.

I hate to say it, but Klopp has made more progress with LFC in 6 weeks than LVG has managed in a season and a half. Having said that, you are still second in the league at the moment. Would be funny if Leicester beat you next week to go 4 points clear though!

Zero entertainment? Was I alone in being breathless for that last 8 minutes?

There haven't been many goals scored at Watford so far this season, only Arsenal have come away with a comprehensive win.

We didn't get lucky we did what we used to do regularly, immediately bounced back and went for it after a late equaliser and secured a victory in injury time. If it was under Fergie folks would be waxing lyrical about the never say die attitude and fighting until the end. The season Eric came back into the team post ban, how many points were won with a bit of Eric magic leading to slender victories after huge performances from Schmeichel and the defence.

Right now I'll take the 3 points, the scintillating football can wait. There's some seriously rose tinted glasses reminiscing and yearning for the Fergie era. It's gone, he was a one off and the premier league has levelled out.

Look at today, Leicester top of the league having spanked the truly woeful Geordies, Arsenal undone at West Brom and City being well and truly stretched by a mid table outfit.

I'll take second with room to improve. Were seeing some pace now and improving game on game.

1 or 2 good performances from Liverpool in the last few weeks, so definitely going to be their year. Klopp is God. He was obviously terrible 2 or 3 weeks ago when Liverpool were awful, though. Still, the title is theirs to lose now if they win this match. tongue out Knee jerk football comments as ever.

LvG has taken an absolutely terrible team with zero confidence and got them to the top of the table.

I think you're accusing us of something we're not saying. There were points under SAF when we were unplayable. The start of it all in the early - mid 90s the Ronnie era and there was equally some st in there. The RVN years were pretty dull football a lot of the time, but there was excitement in the game. Then last few years of SAF were st.

Now that we've got that out of the way let's be clear. We were dull. We were rubbish. We were boring. Even in the whitest of the st SAF teams these were the sort of team that we put away easily.

The late wins with SAF were not scrabbling for a second against relegation teams, or relying on a keeper to save us. We often battered a team and they parked the bus, yes we had the odd off game in the full on attacking era, but we kept going and games were not played at walking pace, passing it around aimlessly whilst everyone stood still. That's what's happening now.

Ferguson could and liked to gamble,he was a risk taker.Lvg does not have the luxury ,not qualify for Europe and he's sacked ,ferguson became untouchable and could afford to gamble.

As for Klopp,Liverpool have been excellent but city through the middle have been woeful.

LVG is gambling though. He's gambling that we can score one goal and prevent the opposition from scoring in every game. That's both a huge gamble and an even bigger risk to take.

I'm not disputing the dull football Loon. But there isn't a manager left in the game that sets teams up like Fergie anymore. We've got Van Gaal, he's got huge experience and he's got us right up at the top of the league in contention. He's not here long term but he's cleaned up Moysies mess and if the succession plan is to believed lets hope he's adding defensive nous to the free flowing attacking football Giggs was brought up with under Fergie.

I'm frustrated with the current style but we're getting better.

I don't want to win a PL with st football. I want to be entertained and can live without winning the league. Our tradition is flowing, attacking football, not dull st like this. At least have a go at teams like Watford. If we go for it and only scrape a 2-1 win with a last minute winner then fine.

I really don't like the idea of Giggs taking over the top job. I thought he was a poor captain on the field. It wasn't Moyes' mess, it was SAFs.

I don't see us getting better. I see us getting better results in terms of wins and league position, but I don't see any positives in terms of style of play.

I'm unsure on Giggs, but I guess the romantic in me would like to see Giggs and perhaps Neville alongside taking us onto greater glories. I do see us getting better though. Martial, Memphis, Lingard, Pereira there's youthful talent there it just needs time.

We'll have to disagree on winning the league with dull football. I'd take winning leagues over the glorious failures a la Arsenal over the last 10 years or Liverpool winning today.

As for the free flowing football we both know it went with Ronaldo. There's been nothing close since. Perhaps that's why the likes of a Best or Ronaldo are so revered, or the uniqueness of the Class of '92. They clearly are once in a generation. At least I got to see them. (Best admittedly was at a legends game at Moss Lane and he was a shade past his peak)

I really want us to get better, I'm trying not to be our version of raja over on the Scouse thread. I just don't see anything at the moment to convince me. I want to see us have a go at the really crap teams and try to beat them by a few goals, even if it doesn't pay off. At the moment it's a C for results and a D- for effort, with an A for league position. Make it a B- for effort and I'd be happy.

Yet again I totally agree with Loon. I'd say the rose tints are on some of you other guys wink.

It'd feel a pyrrhic victory if we won the league playing like we are.

Some of the fans were chanting "we're man united, we'll send you to sleep". And we are bloody good at that at the moment.

On a positive note, I still like the fact he is bringing youngsters through. Fingers crossed he produces another generation of winners and we can all be seeing rosy red.

I'm somewhat of a lone voice of positivity at Old Trafford with those that sit by me. So it may well be a personality trait! Bit like yourself a few years back I've recently questioned why I drag myself there every week. I'm longing for the atmosphere and performance levels that took us to Moscow, but that's 8 years ago now. However I remain confident we'll get there. Misguided as that may turn out to be!
