Mahrez plays the type of football Depay can only dream about at the moment.
That's true. He looks like a hell of a find. Memphis looks overweight and confused.

Press seem to have changed the line on Pep from "he's set to take over at City" to "he wants to manage Utd"

May just be desperate journalists wanting to write something or his agent trying to set up a better contract at Bayern but this AM' Telegraph has Pep to Utd next season with LvG paid off with £7m
Maybe this news will pep LVG up? smile
Just now I'd have any of the class of '92 at the helm.
LVG has sorted the defence out. No question. But he has only 18 months left to sort the rest out.
Or no time at all if these rumours are true.

Various chatter boxes. No way of telling what is based in fact or fiction.
We can dream!

Amen. I had exactly this discussion with my brother this weekend!

"If Van Gaal only had the kind of players capable of sprinting past their markers to get behind a defence, this creativity block could be eased. After all, a pass sent through to a teammate running free into space and widening the gap between himself and his slow-chasing opponent with every stride, is a somewhat “safer” proposition than punting a ball into a static mass of attackers and defenders, where nothing looks to be on. Of course possession is going to be squandered and lost when it’s smashed into a thicket of unwelcoming bodies in the opposition’s box."

Another point is that a sideways pass is a bloody dangerous one if it gets intercepted, as the opposition player is immediately in his stride and beyond the passer and the intended recipient. Contrast a forward pass that he has to slide to intercept and then still has the passer to beat before he is in space.

This is definitely being considered, but still a long shot. Ed met with Pep's brother last week. Not sure what the business relationship is between Pep's brother and Pep.

Apparently Peter Lim owns Valencia who also owns a stake in Salford City with the class of 92 so you can see the connections. Looks like getting experience for a big job down the line.

Indeed, good move for him I think. Will miss his input into MNF.

I do agree - however it is one thing to be able to analyse a performance after it's happened and a completely different thing to see what is happening during the match and affect it there and then, especially when you're on the touchline without the benefit of birds-eye-view cameras!

Interesting role. I'd say that Young needed a little more work first, though, then maybe Fellaini.

I'm surprised he's taken this job tbh, taking his huge popularity & high regard i'd say all sky sports subscribers hold him in ,

I'm going to miss him on MNF , Jesus... does this mean that clown Carragher is going to the number 1 expert now ?

In the recent documentary about Salford you could see how much he loved being properly involved in football, I guess Sky whilst sorting some of that need wasn't enough

Agree its a shame as a Sky Sports fan, he was one of the best pundits.

By his own admission and SAF's opinion, GNev wasn't the most talented right back, let alone player on the pitch. What set him apart was his ability to read and understand the game amd how it was developing. He has great respect within the England squad by all accounts and I'm happy to see him try his hand at management. I really think of all the Class of '92, or recent top level players he's the one who has the most potential to succeed at it.
