Bit of an insult to Leicester don't you think? It's not as if they are undeserving of top spot? United's performances have been poor this season but I think it's wrong to take anything away from the teams that have been playing well.

I dont think there can be any doubt that Leicester will, if they win the PL, be the worst team to have done so for quite a long time. Aside from 2 or 3 players, it is a team of hard-working and competent players. The kind of team that normally finishes mid-table.

It is very fashionable to be pleased to see Leicester doing well, and I think it is a good thing for the League to be shaken up a bit. But when I watch Leicester, I see a fairly rugged and pedestrian side that cedes possession and relies on a couple of stars and (admittedly excellent) counter-attacks. It is good that things are being mixed up a bit, but Leicester are not a manifestation of the beautiful game, and their success is largely down to other good teams simply not turning up. Arsenal and City, in particular, have no real excuse for being so mediocre this season.

Depends what you mean by worse. If by worse you mean on paper, not Champ Manager famous, multi-million pound egos, then yes, they are worse. But they've actually got a great spine to the team and one of the best work ethics in the league aside from maybe Tottenham.

If you want a worst team in terms of performances throughout the season then look no further than the last ManU team to win the league. They really were bang average and massively took advantage of a poor league that season.

Look lads, this is the United thread so if you're going to be upset about us occasionally having a less than objective, politically correct view of our 'rivals' then don't look here. In general we're a lot less partisan than other internet forums and can appreciate good football by other teams.

Yep, it seems he is out for a while with Knee Knack. Times reckon 1-2 months... It's not the sole (or even main) reason for our poor season, but we really haven't had any luck at all with injuries. Thank god DDG stayed fit so far, otherwise who knows where we would be.

On the bright side at least some of the young un's get a bit of exposure.

You won't find anyone who disagrees with the last comment on here. We were average at best. We all said as much in the thread.

We won it because nobody else wanted to. If Arsenal or City wake up then the title is theirs for the taking this year, Leicester will fall down when the pressure gets to them and Spurs are annual chokers.

I hope Leicester do it though.

apparently fellaini is out for a good few weeks as well.

hopefully this will all culminate in the sacking of lvg,but I do feel a little sorry for the luck he has had with injuries.

Possibly, but doesn't a good manager ensure cover is in place for injuries which are inevitable nowadays. They also know not to push people too hard in training if there's a chance of injury and / or the player is nursing one.

Where is our cover for Rooney?

The flip side argument is that it helps him even more as hell now play without a recognised striker and play even more possession football. I wonder it we'll manage our one shot on target per game now?

I agree you should have cover but when your first choice full backs are long term injured Damian & Shaw. Their cover have long term injuries Rojos & Valencia. Then extra cover in terms of Jones, Varela, Young have also been injured you have to say its unlucky.

Yeah the full back position is incredible this year, jinxed even. Can't blame LVG there as there is enough cover in the squad really and in any normal season we would have been ok. no way to expect the amount of injuries focussed on that area.

The striker situation though was a huge gamble from the outset - and that's despite Martial coming in doing better than might have been expected in his first season. Depay really needs to step up now - he won't get a better opportunity.
