Dream scenario, ManU pip Man City for 4th.
Bayern and Man City make the Champions League final.
So if Pep's current team win they ensure his next year's team are not in the CL next year. Bit of a dilemma.
(In the unlikely event Man City win the CL does that mean, 4th doesn't qualify or was that rule changed?)
It does highlight the stupidity of openly changing jobs whilst the present campaign is still under way.
Now I do like that!Bayern and Man City make the Champions League final.

Hadn't thought of that beautiful scenario.
The plot thickens. According to this:

A 4th placed ManU are OK if Man City win the CL...as long as Liverpool don't also win the Europa League. Max 5 places allowed and those Cups take precedence.
Anyway, looking at the fixtures the most crucial game is Man City V Arse. If that is a draw then it is out of ManU's hands as they both have way superior goal difference.
If either team win that game then ManU can win all 4 games to get 4th whatever else happens. Very unlikely but you never know.

So much can happen between now and season end, it's fun I guess to speculate but that's it.
What I can tell you is that if we had played well enough this season to end up Premier League "Champions" we would have qualified for the "Champions" League...with the managers dogmatic mentality that sadly was never going to happen. On the opening day of the season we were all on Zero points. LVG's team's performance's this season have been shocking and if we fail to qualify it will be only what we deserve.

I would bet my house on a draw in Man City v Arsenal. Neither side has a scrap of integrity, and they will make sure it is a draw as long as it suits them both by then.
I love a good conspiracy. Sadly this is not one of them. So, go ahead.
I am sure that you can remortgage your house and that Wm Hill will accept your wager.
Let us know how you get on.

A relegation team winning the PL is shocking (but very amusing and well deserved at the same time). Chelsea, the current PL champion and with all the quality they have, finishing 9th or 10th(?) is shocking, Arsenal not sacking Wenger is shocking.....What I can tell you is that if we had played well enough this season to end up Premier League "Champions" we would have qualified for the "Champions" League...with the managers dogmatic mentality that sadly was never going to happen. United just are where they should be considering all the changes, injury's, youngsters and state of transition they're in.

Spending over 200 million and not coming top 4 - shocking. Not sacking LVG at Christmas - shocking.United just are where they should be considering all the changes, injury's, youngsters and state of transition they're in.
Was listening to TalkSport this morning Graham Hunter the Spanish correspondent was on - he was saying in Spain they believe its 100% he has contracts agreed with UTD - he said if it was the Jose of old i.e 1st stint and Chelsea and His time at Porto then its a great bit of business but if its the Jose that everyone now knows of Real and Chelsea where he caused so many dressing room splits it became toxic then its a very brave appointment.

Plus you make it sound like if City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal haven't spend anything. O, and by the way:
Quality of Uniteds squad when Ferguson retired - shocking.

It's certainly not a shock that we are where we are, the point I was making was most of the performances this season have been shocking! I lay this at LVG's feet, the style of play is not conducive with a strong season. United just are where they should be considering all the changes, injury's, youngsters and state of transition they're in.

Your posts are quite interesting, specifically the way you write them. They are a well written dig, hidden inside what looks to be a discussion point. taking it at face value, Mourinho is a no brainer of an appointment. United are mirroring Liverpool's fall from grace almost exactly.
Teams start to beat us, but somehow we continue to win the league. A final poor and ageing squad wins the league, the manager walks away, new manager struggles to revamp it alongside the weight of expectation and three decades in the wilderness beckons. Mourinho may well break that mound for us. If not, it's a gamble worth taking as there are few other options on the table.

First half for me showed how we can play and how the players like to play. 2nd half performance was that of the way LVG likes us to play, dull, boring and slow build up play. GTFO lvg.
Not quite as simple as that. First half you started quickly and Leicester were a bit on the back foot with the pace of it all ... when they decided to actually push up slightly second half, and deny you the space you created not a lot and could have conceded on the counter.Possession you won though, so it's a victory for LvG - who'll be there next season so he says!
I know a draw at home against the champions elect is a good result when you say it like that, but we really needed to win today. The fact that City are getting walloped at Soton highlights just how vital those two pints would've been.
Having said that, I fully expect us to finish 4th and both Liverpool and City to win their European competitions meaning we're out anyway.
