This. And everything that ORD has written.

Leicester deserve to win the PL this year, but let's not kid ourselves, they are not a great team and their performances have been about shocking teams and grabbing points. They've done a brilliant job of it and it's rare that any team can do it for a full season, but they have.

Nobody is slagging Leicester off. They have done a brilliant job, but they're not a great team. We were st when we won our last title. Sometimes being crap works for you, but let's be honest, City are a much better team, as are Chelski and arguably Arsenal. We're not, but I can live with that.
Leicester will win the title on merit.
But.
Chelski, Citeh, Dippers Gooners and United have been way way below their usual form.
The journos writing about yesterday"s game or pundits watching 10 minutes on MOTD, did not see the game I did. They'd penned their pieces before kick off.
Leicester were not comfortable. They were well organised and effective.
In a typical EPL year they'd be competing for 4th at best.

Can't quite believe the negativity towards Leicester. Yes it's been a poor league, but you don't generally get lucky winning the league over 38 games. As a team, they have been exceptional. Just to put it into perspective, they'll finish well above at least 18 teams, 2 of which have made the semis of the Euro competitions, and who may both still go on to win those competitions.
That's a good post. No-one's has the right to win the league, or even be in the top 4; you have to the the chance and Leicester have done just that.

Even if they were dross (which they weren't), so what? They've been superb all season and bound to have a dip in quality/energy at some point. The fact they still managed a comfortable point against Man U at Old Trafford suggests they were far from dross.

And as for how they have played this season. As a complete neutral, I'd rather watch Leicester City every week than the stilted, negative style that LVG has played for 80% of the games this season.
So what?...nothing.

Its just a sad indictment of the state of the Premier league at the moment. Utd have been dross, so have Liverpool. Spurs & Arsenal have choked, god alone knows what has happened to Chelsea & City have blown hot & cold all year.

Leicester have taken full advantage and good luck to them, but they are not the best team to win the league in the last 10 years, not even close.
Can't speak for others but I'm not saying they ARE THE best team to win the league in the past ten years. I just refute the suggestion that they are dross.

And as someone says further up the page, they are a bloody good team. Ranieri has done a marvellous job moulding them into a unit that plays to their strength and most of the time, it works. They asre made up of some wonderful individual players too who are far from dross... how else does Mahrez (cost £400k) win PFA PLayer of the Year while Memphis/Benteke/Costa/Hazard/Toure/many others have been, well, dross!!

Very worthy winners, their style isn't easy on the eye and reminds me of a kids team I used to manage where we'd play ten behind the ball and have a couple of lightning quick forwards, but they have done it brilliantly well, and have shown a lot of character in games ,which is something many of the glamour clubs have failed to do.

I also think if they retain key players they could do ok in Europe, the style they play is perfect for tactical European games,United enjoyed getting to 3 finals on the back of defending deep and counter attacking .

Leicester are top because they are the best team. Every player in the team gives everything they have every week.

All the other 'top' clubs have petulant superstars that show magic one week but can't be bothered the next.

Name one other club his season that hasn't had issues with their superstar players

Exactly. I can't believe the bitterness on here. Of course they're not the greatest team to win the title in the last 10 years - those teams spend hundred of millions assembling their squads - Leicester were relegation fodder just last season. Their story is incredible, no team has done what they have done in a generation in English football. They might not be the greatest team to have won the title in the last 10 years, but to have done what the have done, they will go down in history.

Leicester will certainly go down in history.

They have certainly shocked the bigger clubs. All those £££££s for sod all. And Thursday night football.

I actually fancy Leicester in the ECL should they get a decent draw. They will be in for a rude awakening with UEFA refs though. Cards aplenty if they continue their 'good old fashioned' style.

I hate all this Feckin sour grapes ste.. After 38 games the best team wins it.. End of.. They deserve it by a million miles.. to call them dross is so feckin disrespectful, I wondered where this saying ABU comes from? Now I know why, Also if LVG stays with you for another year I would happily bet on them finishing above Man U next season.

I think the people who are chatting st about Vardy and his party are in the minority by a long way. To win the league you need to win the most points from 38 games, simple. Doesn't matter if you're the worst team in the last 5, 10, 50 years to win it. That's not a requirement last time I checked.

Good on Leicester and other fans trying to take away from what they're achieving only makes them look a bit of a bell end in all honesty.

I wouldn't go taking a few pillocks on here as being representative of the millions of United supporters.
I don't reckon that many United PH-ers go to many games but I'm happy for them to tell me otherwise.

I was in the stand next to the Leicester fans at OT yesterday and there was plenty of applause for Leicester from our end.

No sour grapes here. Envy maybe!
Finally, I'd much rather see a small club win the league than a Chelski or Citeh with all their $$$.

Spurs didn't start the season well, and players like Lamela and Bentaleb were disappointing.

However Spurs have had a fantastic season and haven't really invested in buying in petulant superstars. 3 points from 12 in August is why they are 8 points behind Leicester.

nono Are you trying to belittle the amazing footballing achievement of the mighty Leicester City? The finest team in all the land? The most entertaining and technically gifted example of our beautiful game? Here on the 'We love Leicester' forum?
Shame on you! Don't know about ABU, but this post makes me understand why there are so many ABS...

Yes, I'm talking bks, but hey why let one slightly less than congratulatory poster get away with it?

Get over it lads, one post suggested Leicester were 'dross' and to be honest, they weren't even up to their own standards yesterday so maybe he had a point of sorts. If you're going to try to tar every other United fan with the disrespectful brush, maybe you need to have a little readjustment yourselves.

Did I miss the memo about having to pretend Leicester are the Second Coming? They're a dirty, park the bus team with a lot of fairly unpleasant players (including National Treasure Vardy).

Horrible teams have won the PL before, but none anything close to Leicester for not playing much football and being cynical off the ball. We all know this but most of us seem to have decided to turn a blind eye to it and jump on the bandwagon with the BBC fairy tale narrative.

Bugger all to do with being a Utd fan. If Spurs won the PL, I would be pleased as punch for them - a great young team that plays good football.

The big story this season is how every other team has managed to be so bad that Leicester are going to win the league. City in particular have embarrassed themselves.

Leicester really haven't been that dirty - in fact it was refreshing to see yesterday, that with the Huth/Fellaini incident, both players did their thing and then just carried on playing, no diving to the ground holding their heads, feigning agony. Personally I'd rather see the real men of Leicester, over the diving playing acting cheats that have plagued many other teams.

And no one said you have to pretend that Leicester are the best team in the land, but saying they are dross only shows your own lack of football insight and displays a superb level of bitterness and jealousy.
