Contracts mean nothing, like I said, I'd just shake the tree a little bit to see what the reaction is. How we didn't sign him after he tore us apart in the cup I'll never know.
Lukaku would get 30 goals a season with the right supply IMO. His age would also make him a great signing. John Stones could grow into a great player, maybe not next season but I'm pretty sure after a year together he could make a pretty formidable partnership with Smalling. Seamus Coleman, yeah I guess he is a bit weak but other than Bellerin, I can't think of a right back that I'd really fancy. Lets hope Mourinho knows of someone because I don't rate any of our current RB propositions.
But that's what I mean. You say "I'd just shake the tree a little" but what are you going to shake it with? You would need to have something that Spurs would want for their 20 year old, young player of the season, England first teamer.Lukaku would get 30 goals a season with the right supply IMO. His age would also make him a great signing. Some deluded on here need to realise the lure on Manchester United is not what it once was.

And they are renowned for holding on to players? Some deluded on here need to realise the lure on Manchester United is not what it once was.
You think Spurs are going to be cash rich for the next few seasons when they are building a new stadium? Bless

To get either Ali or Kane out of Spurs would take a record transfer, i.e they would want more for Ali than the £50 million Sterling went for and it would take a world record to get Kane.
While they're both very good players (Ali more so for the future) I think United would be better off spending the money elsewhere.

And there are really going to sell a prime asset which is increasing in value year on year? Truly deluded.berlintaxi said:

Like Gareth Bale? Money talks my friend. If you think Spurs are (cash) rich enough and big enough to turn down record bids for ANY player then I feel you are the one that's deluded. As someone else said, it probably would cost an obscene amount of money to sign either, does that mean its never going to happen? Does it hell!
If either of the Manchester clubs said to spurs "name your price" a deal could be done, both clubs have the financial clout to do it and stranger things have happened. I'm sure footballers are also aware that finishing third and then appearing in the Champions League every 5 or 6 years does not make a big club

And that the stadium build will have the same financial consequences for Spurs that it did for Arsenal 10 years ago. Things have moved on and dramatically so.
The Invincibles were in 03/04, the last league title was also 03/04, they got to the CL final in 2006 and also built the stadium in 2006, hardly been plain sailing since has it?Wombat3 said:
