Only what I posted a few weeks ago, which was, Maureen was a done deal, Ibrahimovic was supposed to be a done deal! He wanted Stones, Sanchez and Griezeman. But not heard any more on the potential signings since then.
Ibra is looking unlikely at moment isnt it ? Griezeman wants to stay where he is for a bit and sanches went to the germans after we messed about trying to sign him apparently.I'm sure jose has a great idea who he wants having spent most of the season scouting potential buys, just will be a shock when he finds out everyone is £10m more than they would be to any other club.

As we all know it's a bit of a merry go round as far as signings go. As soon as one piece of the jigsaw moves, plans change. If for example he managed to secure Griezman, would he really need Ibra? On the other hand, from a commercial perspective, he'd be very good. 60m would be an absolute bargain! Unlikely in the extreme.
Any watch the England game? Why on Earth is Rooney getting blamed for the terrible performance? The problem with the team is trying to fit Jamie One-Trick-Pony Vardy into an international side.
Vardy needs to be on the bench simple as that. I'd much rather start Marcus Rashford. People seem to forget how dire Vardy was the season before! He would make a decent sub when we need a goal.Any watch the England game? Why on Earth is Rooney getting blamed for the terrible performance? Because he was supposed to be playing midfield and instead took the centre forward position, forcing Kane and Vardy onto the wings. The problem is trying to fit Rooney into a system where there are better players in every position.Any watch the England game? Why on Earth is Rooney getting blamed for the terrible performance? Did you? As from that comment it appears not. Any watch the England game? Why on Earth is Rooney getting blamed for the terrible performance? The problem with the team is trying to fit Jamie One-Trick-Pony Vardy into an international side.

If your 'one trick' is scoring goals, then it's not a bad trick to be able to carry off.
Pity he never looked like it last night. 9 touches he had apparently, made 5 fouls and was offside twice. Had a great season, but a bad night. The system was wrong though, the top two seemed like they had been told to push wide to make up for the lack of width offered by Alli and Milner, which meant Rooney could then push up.
It's not Rooney's fault that Roy chose that system, or that many players just didn't perform that well on the night (Vardy, Rooney and Kane amongst them). He's an easy target though, just like Beckham was before that.

It's not Rooney's fault, it's Roy's for trying to shoe horn Rooney into the team.
For supporters who watch the team play, where is Rooney best played at this stage of his career?
I am not persuaded that Vardy will score goals for England. He is suited to the Premiership's fast and furious playing style and Leicester's smash and grab tactics; but he has very little quality and is not well suited to slow, defensive international football.
Anyway, a bit of a distraction. I just felt sorry for Rooney (who has carried England for years and gets no credit).

Of course he didn't, you might as well have stuck him in goal!
Exactly - he's suited to a counterattacking system in the main, not what we tried to do last night. Admittedly the sending off messed things up in any case, so not much really can be taken from the game.I think that's the point trying to be made? If you play someone you should be playing them because they suit the style and tactics you want, not the other way round. Same for Rooney, same for Vardy, anyone.
Whether Roy does that who knows.

Well it's certainly not right up front, so a number 10 type role probably or advanced midfield as he seems to be touting himself for now. That's not to say he's necessarily the first choice there though, for club or country. This is surely his last major championships though unless he finds a new lease of life with Jose.Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
