Anyone else a bit worried by our lack of signings so far? Like Frank says, proceedings are being kept pretty hush hush this year, so maybe there are lots of irons in the fire that we are not aware of?
Transfer window isn't open yet and lots of players are on holiday or playing in Copa America. Be another week or so before the merry go round kicks in.

Not worried at all yet.

I quite like the sound of doing our business this way. No leaks, no cagey comments to the press, no indications of anything. Keep it all private and then one day just call a conference at OT and introduce all the new players...

'Good morning ladies and gentlemen, here is £300 million of young footballing talent!'
Hopefully money better spent than last summer.

I think you're overstating it slightly - those teams you cite really are pretty much Everton standard. But the bigger point is not the quality of the lesser teams / players but how well they test the big sides.

I find the Spanish league pretty dull because some of those teams (but more the also rans) dont put up much of a fight against the big 2 in individual games. It isn't as hotly competitive at the Prem, and a lot of games are effectively over early on when the smaller side throws in the towel.

I dont think any side would 'walk' the Prem, although I agree that RM and Barca are better than any English side.
That's a good point in terms of the level of effort against the top two. When I say that Barca or Real would walk the Prem it's a difficult one. I accept the Prem is played at a high tempo and pretty much every game is hard fought but the teams don't score many goals and I don't think that's because the defending is great, I think it's because they aren't all that when it comes to putting the ball in the net. Which Prem league players would have got in Reals or Barcas Champs League team?

I think the Prem is overrated, the best players aren't in it (they used to be) and the quality is patchy.
I think quite a few CBs in the Prem would fancy their chances getting in the Barca team. They get away with playing Mascherano there and he would have been massively found out playing there when at Liverpool.

This.

I'd be worried if it were one week before our pre-season tour, which the players leave for on the 13th July I think, and we hadn't signed anyone.

Really we want any new signings to have a full pre-season so they can get up to fitness and start to gel with the rest of the squad.

If I recall, LvG said that he wanted to get the transfer business completed before the US Tour, so hopefully we may see some action sooner rather than later.

Saw this posted on Facebook as well, how United could line up if we signed everyone we've been said to be looking at!

Except for Firmino - bit of a lack of ambition there wink

That's not too bad a deal, but I would prefer to keep Di Maria. Schweiny has looked a bit leggy for the last couple of years - older than his years would imply.

The implicit market price to S in that deal is pretty low!

As much bullst as that BILD story is, I'd not sell Di Maria at all this summer.

He sounds eager to prove himself and has said he's not considering leaving. He's got the talent, there's no doubt about that, hopefully he can show it next season. If we strengthen further and keep Di Maria, I'm going to be in for a lot of redecorating with all the jizz stains.

DDG's (rented) house is for sale now, apparently (on the BBC website). As things seemed to be dragging on a bit I thought maybe there was a chance he was staying, but oh well...

It's a bit cheeky selling the house that you're renting before buggering off.

He really will have to leave now, but I would be looking at somewhere other than an EU country; otherwise, he'll be back and locked up fairly soon.

All I am trying to do is help some people understand that it is not just journalist bullst. If you want to be a dick feel free (you're doing a first class job of being a dick btw). Clearly I could tell you exactly what happened but that would compromise my friend so unfortunately because of people like you who clearly have way too much negative energy I'll leave it at that. That okay with you ? Thanks.
It is not OK for you to:
-Call me a dick
-Tell me have negative energy
So no thanks.

If you can't take a joke, then take your pretensions back to toddler group.
Well I suggest if you don't want to be called those things you either a) desist from cracking ste jokes or b) get a decent sense of humour.
