Credit where it's due
Me too, tbf I was already excited when we got Jose, the signings so far have just increased that excitement (I still forget we have Zlatan), I don't think it will be dull

Still can't believe united are going to pay north of £85M for a footballer.
Regardless if you can afford it, it's just madness.
It's nice to see the big money transfers coming into the PL. Regardless if you can afford it, it's just madness.
You sold Bale for £86m three seasons ago and we sold Ronaldo for £80m six seasons ago. The money in football is madness gone hyper mad, but it is what it is. You used to revel in having loadsamoney not so long ago.

Transfer fees have gone mental. I remember Chris Waddle going to Marseille for £4.5m and thinking that was unreal, or Roy Keane signing for us for £3.75m amd thinking how is that possible financially. The world has simply gone mad, but with so much money sloshing around then it's not unexpected. I've never ben a fan of ridiculous transfer fee's .

I remember the papers being full of Chris Sutton getting £5k a week at Blackburn and thinking, "wow"!For playing footy. Well done, Jimmy Hill.

PSG, Real, Barca, Juve and Bayern. Outside of that no-one can afford it. Its a closed market for most of these players with limited clubs. If players want them then you pays your money.
Someone did put this in perspective and said the the amount of money the club makes at the moment if we buy Pogba, its similar to when we bought Rio for 30m in terms of outlay vs revenue.
A lot of the fees are crazy, particularly for people who aren't what i'd call world class players however..........
Rio joined United in 2001 from Leeds. I think the fee was £35 million.
Veron joined United in 2001 for £34 million
Zidane joined real in 2001. The fee was 75 million Euros.
So it makes you think.

For all those questioning the transfer fee:

A rising tide lifts all shores. Besides, I'd rather the club spunk £100 million on Pogba than go down the "value in the market" road that the great man led us down in 2010. United under invested for years and I'm glad the Glazers are finally getting their cheque book out.
And just for final thoughts, in the not too distant past, United sold Ronaldo for £80 million, let Tevez go, and in return, bought Obertan, Valencia and a washed up Michael Owen.
How about the summer when we lost Fergie and in return got Moyes and Fellaini?
Stop complaining about money. If United don't sign Pogba, the money will not go towards subsidising season tickets instead. It will not go towards reducing Sky Sports packages for United fans.
It will however find it's way to the Glazers and I take absolutely no joy from money in their pockets. I do take joy from seeing United do well and Pogba will definitely help with that, even if some supporters do perceive him to be "overpriced".
