I loved the way we won the ball back every time Hull got it, and Blind and Bailly were excellent.
Fellaini did do that well, although a lot of the time he wasn't under that much pressure in the second half. Sadly, Mourinho has mentioned that he has somehow managed to pick up a muscle injury in his back (looked ok in the game, but maybe post match he slipped on a soap in the locker room or summat). Could be out for a while, apparently, so probs going to miss the City match (unless it's mind games / an excuse to keep him out of the internationals).

Bailly looking very good signing too, very impressed by him. Smalling has a fight on his hands to get back in - which is great news for us.

Rooney has lost the ball more than I have ever seen from any player! Martial also poor. But what does Rooney have to do to lose his place or get subbed? He has been dreadful.
Rooney has been shocking. How he is not subbed earlier in games I don't know. Offers us nothing apart from giving the ball away. Feel for Mata as he actually looks creative but gets subbed.

Being Skipper must mean you can be rubbish and still play.
Great assist by Rooney. yes
Agreed. Real class. But we probably wouldn't have needed a last minute goal if he hadn't been on the pitch for the preceding 90 minutes giving the ball away non-stop! Micky looked twice the player (again).
Seems the glass in Manchester is still way more than half full, milk glass probably. And remember this is not against Real or Barcelona but against Hull (wherever it is).

Ball tempo/pace was terrible again, chances ? only a couple at best (not one really played out), Rooney did nothing right apart from his great move and assist in the 93rd minute, stopped counting the number of times he lost possession (even up to 4 times in one minute!), Zlatan is only useful when he's delivered a ball (and he does nothing but wait for it), of which he received hardly any (again), Felliani was just his awkward self again making stupid offenses after two good games. Pogba very occasionally showed his class, but it never resulted into something decisive, Micky and Rashford do not get enough minutes (Rashford by the way really is astonishing, every time he enters the pitch something happens), Blind and Bailey seem to be a surprisingly good couple.

Lucky escape I'd say.

Entertainment factor; not very good.

You bang on about the loss of the "United way" and then it jumps up and appears and you miss it. Relentless pressure, 27 attempts and the captain busting a lung to get to the corner in the dying seconds to skin his man and slide it to the young prodigy to slot it home.

Lucky escape you say? Normal service resumed I'd say. It's been 3 years coming.

Entertainment factor? Got me out of my seat.

I agree.

It was an excellent performance. Lashing rain and a very resilient side. We kept up the pressure for all of the second half and finally made our way through. If Rooney hadn't destroyed our tempo in the first half, however, it probably could have been a comfortable win.

Have to say that was quite exciting, certainly made my wife jump when we scored laugh

Rashford did really well after coming on, Mikhi too - got to have played themselves into contention for the derby. Credit where its due to Rooney too - didn't have a great game again, first half especially, but he made that goal.

Quality of our crossing was pretty poop mind, that needs to get better against teams parking the bus - but at least we showed the fight to keep going. Hard luck Micky P though, Hull defended very well, Davies was immense, but you of all people should know about Fergie time.

Fellaini did very well too, thought he was a cert for going off after that early booking (bit harsh I thought) but he kept his head. Must be the new hair colour.
We have a team that is going to have a great season, a team that is big and strong front to back (zlatan pogba bailly) but i agree we need to get micky and rashford in the team but how.
Maybe micky for mata?

I don't think Rashford should be rushed or played too much. He's 18, we will have plenty of games for him to play in and no doubt some injuries to contend with too.

No rush at all. He'll get a game a week once the Europa league kicks in and if we have a run in the Carling Cup. If he keeps scoring then the premier league starts will follow.

It keeps everyone on their toes and needing to score to keep their place. Nice problem to have.

I would add this, though - Martial could do with dropping if it might get him to sort out whatever is going on in his head. He's not been right for a couple of games: slow and not very interested.

Might be sulking because zlatan has taken his shirt number and position

I saw something in the press last week, think he's left his wife and shacked up with a new bird and his wife has been spouting off to the papers about it all, could be that?

He's a young lad still, so I expect that would really distract him from training and playing. Hopefully he'll get his head back, because he has everything to be an awesome player.

I wouldn't. He's a massively exciting young prospect and needs managing carefully. Dropping him could be very demotivating.

It's a risk, I agree. But some players respond better to pressure than to reassurance. I expect the coaches will know him well enough to say which kind of player he is.

I was just thinking exactly the same thing hehe

In regards to the game, I think Scholesy & Rio embarrassed themselves on BT Sport by refusing to criticise Rooney and then saying Mata should be subbed etc. After the game, Rio Ferdinand's facebook status was "Bring off the Wayne Rooney gang where are you?! The facts state the obvious! #mufc", I'd love to see the facts because he was fking awful.

Pogba & Zlatan also really disappointing Saturday. I think it was a bad day at the office, a win is a win though smile
