Anyone who thinks Rooney played well against Hull is delusional or has simply no idea about football. He was dreadful (except for his excellent assist).
I feel sorry for Mata - he has played very well and deserves the No 10 spot.
You missed option 3 - 'is one of Wazza's mates' I feel sorry for Mata - he has played very well and deserves the No 10 spot.
Difficult for Mourinho to drop him though, whilst somehow he keeps chipping in with something. Even if there is a whole bag of 'what if' around playing someone else in the role and doing better, results > potential unfortunately. A couple of games without an assist / goal and similar levels of performance will see him rested I'm sure. In the meantime if he keeps getting assists and goals then at least that's something positive.

It seems Rooney's undroppable atm so hopefully we'll just keep getting results and he'll play his way back into form. I've been quite disappointed with him for a few years too but don't forget that he's been playing in dodgy systems and philosophies too for a good while. I'm sure Jose won't keep faith for ever if he doesn't improve.
if this "united interested in Bale" thing ever becomes reality then it will open a window for Rooney to leave or rotate more.
there are better players in the positions he can play in. he's not a central midfielder, not a genuine striker but he does have a role in the pocket - he should have been playing there sooner as I have said frequently, however micky is the real deal and if the bale things does come off - which I very much doubt btw, then it opens up huge attacking options.
if not then I think one more signing - another centre half possibly and i'll be pretty happy with the summer business.
one more thing - Toni and Shaw back feels like having two new players and the side has more energy full stop than at any time under LVG....

Rooney hasn't got the touch to play No 10. He simply has too little technical ability to play in that role. there are better players in the positions he can play in. he's not a central midfielder, not a genuine striker but he does have a role in the pocket - he should have been playing there sooner as I have said frequently, however micky is the real deal and if the bale things does come off - which I very much doubt btw, then it opens up huge attacking options.

I agree on everything else, though. Bale is vanishingly unlikely, in my view. Shaw looks awesome. Valencia is also playing well (and is a Mourinho player - knows his role, performs it consistently and is strong and fast).
After seeing some of the dross our rivals have bought I'm feeling good about this season!
Sissoko for 30mil, fk me, he's terrible! Liverpool again haven't properly addressed their obvious flaws, despite the mob on their thread heckling me down for suggesting such a thing. I would be fuming if I was them and they didn't sign Hart. They look very weak in the central defence and midfield still and obviously left back. We will have to see what this new keeper is like.
Chelsea and City are the main threats looking at everyone's squad, although I'm not sure on Luiz for Chelsea, any one seen him regularly last season? Has he changed?

What part of the chat on the LFC thread did you not get when we told you the new keeper we signed has been out with a broken hand ?Sissoko for 30mil, fk me, he's terrible! The new CB we bought was out injured and played his 1st game last week against spurs and played well ?

Plus he asked what we were doing about a LB and defenders right in the middle of a massive conversation we were all having about LBs and defenders! The dude only had to read a few posts up. Tit.
I am not sure why its so hard to fathom.... we have signed 2 players for the positions he keeps repeating himself about - now we in reality know fk all about them apart from they come from the German league which Klopp knows very very well and they were his 1st choice CB and 1st choice GK -
The GK was voted 2nd behind Neuer and the CB was voted in the team of the year as CB with Hummels....
But i suppose if you want to ignore the fact we have signed them and pretty much they have not played for us then yeah we need a CB and a GK ...
Blah blah blah.
Nobody cares about Liverpool. They'll finish at best 5th and at worst 8th. I cannot imagine getting excited about the difference between those two outcomes.
City, by contrast, are a serious team. I am impressed by the new boss shipping out the dross (Nasri, Hart, Mangela).

I admire your faith in these players you've never once seen play, who come from a rubbish league.
Klopp has a st defensive record, it's probably more his style of play than the players, so I can't see much changing for you this season at the back, which will once again probably cost you.
