He'll be lucky if he gets ten minutes.

It does, however, highlight the potential problem for Rashford this season now that Zlatan Ibrahimovic forms the arrowhead of United’s attack and inevitably that has turned a light back on José Mourinho’s perceived reluctance to trust young, homegrown players.

Perhaps with good reason, too, if we recall Mourinho’s introductory press conference at Old Trafford and the attempted deception – classic José – when he produced a sheet of paper containing 55 names to nail “the lie” that he never brought through academy players only for it to materialise, on closer inspection, that his list included Arjen Robben, Mario Balotelli, Mikel John Obi and various assorted ringers.

Robben, to put it into context, had won 10 caps for Holland, played in more than 100 games in the Eredivisie, won the league with PSV Eindhoven, won his country’s young player of the year award and starred in Euro 2004 before joining Chelsea for £12m, aged 20.

Various others on Mourinho’s list had made their debuts elsewhere and, as for the legitimate ones, only 11 had played 90 minutes or more under his management. Ten had played fewer than 10 minutes. Three had appeared for a single minute and, not for the first time with Mourinho, an old quote came to mind from Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, the former president of France. “Jacques Chirac,” he said, “could have his mouth full of jam, his lips can be dripping with the stuff, his fingers covered with it, the pot can be standing open in front of him. And when you ask him if he’s a jam-eater, he’ll say: ‘Me eat jam? Never.’”

Him on the right and Martial on the left do you think?

Hopefully Micki through the middle but the reality is we'll have Rooney there

No Aguero is good news for us, if Fellaini plays we'll really see if he can nail down that position next to PP or not

It is not a problem when your strikers are in form, it's what coaches/managers dream of. What is a problem is when you can't buy a goal.

Can't wait for this weekend's game, I think it will be a tight game but I'm optimistic for a narrow win. Any bets against Rashford coming on getting the winner?

Micky doubtful as he picked up an injury in the international game.

I've been a lifelong Rooney fan but would prefer to see Miki given a go at 10 (if fit) against City with Rashford on the right.

Well he could try making a pass at one, but it would likely miss on current form.

Bravo! I briefly toyed with the 'shooting' or 'slotting one home' angle but thought better of it. smile

If he's providing either goals or assists every game and we are winning he's not going to get dropped is he? Anyway he's looking over his shoulder at some fantastic talent, finally.

Can't wait for Saturday.

Perhaps Rashford for Martial would be my only change if The Armenian fella isn't fit. (Must learn how to spell his name!)

I am coming up from London for the game (of course, as all Utd fans live in London). Is parking at the cricket ground and then sprinting back after the match still the best way to avoid traffic chaos?

I am nervous as hell, as always before the derby. City have been so good in recent years.

How early are you arriving? There's loads of options in and around the cricket ground. If you head back to the M56 through Chorltons back streets you'll miss the bulk of he traffic. I live in Didsbury so do the route every week, if you want reference points look up Nell Lane and St Werburghs Road and you'll be at the cricket ground avoiding the main routes.

Thank you very much. Planning to arrive before 11 (with any luck).
