Fergies last master stroke. A complete departure from his transfer policy but he knew as did Mancini at the time that signing RVP was key to the league that season.
That volley was immense. Agreed Cie.
Confirms if there was any doubt that LVG isn't one for sentiment. Assuming he does go.
Does that mean we have a striker in bound? Or is he going to trust Rooney, Chich and Wilson?

As for Rooney, Hernandez and Wilson... I don't know. I think had Hernandez not broken his collarbone he'd be sold without a doubt so would LvG use him? I can't see it. Maybe he will but I dunno. But just Rooney and Wilson is a bit light. Wilson has talent no doubt but I'd be surprised to stick with those two.
This Italian lad looks great signing (captained his side several times = always a good sign!)
Paddy Crerrand has said today (MUTV) that "in the next few days you'll see why ManUtd are the biggest club in the world. Ed's in crazy mode"
Hope it's true!!
Personally I'd be delighted with Hummels (unlikely) and DDG staying (God knows)

I'm not missing any point old boy.
Kane is not worth £50M , i never said he is or was. I have said from the start that if any of the two big Manchester clubs are prepared to pay £50M then we should sell him.
Exactly, and you wont find a single Liverpool fan who actually thinks on merit Sterling is worth 50m he is 30-35m tops then throw into the fact he is English and then a right winger and City want him if you were selling you would (as Levy would) put that to 50m Kane is not worth £50M , i never said he is or was. Hummels is a definite no, he said as much yesterday.
I think there is no way we would risk just Wilson and Rooney into the season. There have been rumblings on Twitter about something huge coming but no one has said what.
My only concern with all the previous links is its Cavani, Ed seems to have a real hard on for him

I wouldn't be thrilled with Cavani I have to say. Whenever I watch him he seems crap.Although to be honest if we're playing with one striker up front, a 3 of Rooney, Cavani and Wilson could be worse. Who else could it be really? Lacazette would be my choice, like you said he's good on FIFA, sign him up.

How pissed was he? Just the usual blurry eyes and getting callers names wrong pissed or unable to get out of his chair pissed?)
Love a bit of Paddy, in fact it's time to renew the old MUTV subscription I think and I hope he's right!

What's the difference between "talk on Twitter" and a load of bks?
The gap between them is probably as big as my penis. There's barely any difference. There's a few reliable ones on Twitter but it's largely just ste. Have a look at Red Cafe's transfer tweets if you want to be bored to tears: http://www.redcafe.net/transfer-tweets/

Player says no to a bid we've not made ?
“There have always been rumours about almost every one of our players, but I decided not to make the move this year,” Hummels said in Singapore before a pre-season friendly against Johor Southern Tigers of Malaysia.“Of course when the big clubs are interested, and Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, it’s an honour. But I decided I wanted to stay here,” he said.
Have our expectations of what's needed in terms of quality been redefined of late?
United have won the league with some pretty average teams in my opinion.
Rooney is class but beyond him are there any who'd get a sniff at the best 11 in the last 20 year so?
We talk about 20 and 30 goal a season strikers but who is there that could come in and do that?
I think the prices of players having gone crazy makes people look at them as better than they are. Oh for the days of Cantona, Keane, Giggs, Schmeichal, Beckham, Scholes, Kanchelskis, Van Nistleroy, and of course the boy wonder.

There's a difference between being interested and putting a bid in, I'm not sure we ever put a bid in for him that's all. It's not unknown for players agents to mention United when contract negotiations are nearing either.
Nor if a club fails to pursue its interest would you expect a player to say 'well they didn't think I was good enough'
Maybe we were going to bid but he decided to stay ? I'm not sure , but I don't recall us making a bid.
Personally not sure if he is the sort of player who fits into lvg's idea of playing a high line ,you need pace ,an attribute he is lacking .otamendi would be a better fit ,as would (but not going to happen) ramos imo.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?
He was the baby faced assassin. I'm pretty sure he means Ronaldo. Darmian confirmed as being on his way by LVG. He also intimated that Memphis may play through the middle. He wouldn't be drawn on any other signings but didn't rule them out.
First pre season game is a week away, can't wait for the season proper to start and I'm sure they'll be 2 or 3 more additions.
