Or does your opinion change after the QF??

What if you didnt make top 4, or it was really close, would it then become important as a route into the champions league??
Playing you lot is always important. It transcends any competition.

GettImg to CL is far more difficult in this competition than getting top 4 in my view. If we're still in it and top 4 is looking difficult, of course it takes on more importance. But we're talking here and now, and the league is more important in my view.

It's a PITA competition. Too many games which disrupt the preparation for the more important league games. Others may have a different view.
You don't think it's good preparation for the CL, or at the very least a great experience for the young 'uns?

Fellani in with a point to prove but again it's a midfield 2, far more positive. His presence I hope means that Herrera has moved up the pecking order for the first team

I think we do, i want to see us pushing on all fronts, but especially the league obviously.

It's a win win for me. Always happy to win games, but wouldn't cry if we lost.

Yes I hope Herrera has been advanced up the pecking order, he's a "footballer"

Sure but then it's the one trophy we've never won. Be nice to win it wouldn't it?

If someone could do time travel and we were in the final, course I would. Would I bust a gut to win it at the risk of tiredness, injuries, Sunday football etc, no. Only my view.

I agree. As a Liverpool fan I'm glad we went for it in the EL last season. Obviously the league and CL come first, but to reach a European final is a great achievement, there are some great teams in the competition and I'd love us to win it again!

Surely the early rounds against the lesser teams is a time to utilise your squad and in effect not really having much effect on your wknds game?

About time. He's got a bit of spite or perhaps bite about him as well and the choir boy looks means it goes unnoticed. Gerrard fell for it!

I agree.

Just play the 2nd string. Who gives a crap if we go out? It's a competition for losers.

4th in the EPL is easier than 4th in the EL, except that's not what the average EPL fan wants to hear, because the EPL is the bestest leaque in the world. But somehow every Spanish club manages to outclass them. Real, Barca and Atletico (you know from that 2 club leaque) based on their performances in the CL are a cut above any EPL club. Except that's not what the average EPL fan wants to hear.

The difference between what ManU wants to be (P&L wise, ought to be) and what ManU currently is, is quite a difference (arrogance meets ignorance probably). Ac Milan is in a sort of similar (but worse) position. Their new Chinese owners (that's the same country most ManU fans come from) shiver of the prospect not playing CL. So with a little help of UEFA they get a 4th CL spot guaranteed from 2018 and on. Even though the Italian clubs in 4th position didn't manage to qualify themselves for the CL in 6 out of the last 7 years.

In the last 15 years UEFA has been given a few country's like England a stuntastic 4 CL spots. That's way more than a billion Euro's in DIRECT UEFA money extra going to leaques with 4 clubs in the CL compared to those with just 1, think of all the indirect money from sponsors/attendance fees etc.

It's a huge Platini'esque scam. But then again Football is big scam, go ask big Sam.

You have to win the EL to get into the CL. But other than that 10 out or 10 as usual.
