I remember Chelsea last season before Mourinho was sacked dominating teams and just not being able to score. They hit the post and bar on a regular basis. They played far better than their results showed. Hey ho.

Said it last night during the game... you need to forget about the names on the back of peoples shirts and play people who can help the team and help you win..atm I dont see Ibra/Pogba or Fellani offering you anything....
Stick Rashford up top, play Martial wide, bring carrick herrara into the middle ..Mata in for Pogba

Rashford
Martial Mata Lingard
Carrick Herarra

Would perform a whole lot better than what you played yesterday...

But people buy into the whole 'names' thing far to much, if they are offering you nothing drop them, give them the kick up the ass they need as at the moment they are strolling round like they are undroppable....
Ibra will score goals for you but he dictates the way you play and its far to slow, always to feet and nothing behind...them 4 would offer you a lot more options

He could play with 2 up Martial and Rashford. 4 across the middle (1 CM sits) and 4 in defence (1 fullback joins in attacks). You then have 5 attacking players with a 6th sat in CM able to pick up scraps in between the 18 yard and half way. Using the Barca philosophy under Guardiola that in the final 3rd the players have licence to roam wherever they feel they can offer the most threat.

You've still got 8 players in midfield and defence but if you leave 2 up these players have to be covered by at least 3 defenders. It's brave but loads of clubs have had success with a 4-4-2 take Leicester for example!

At the moment we have 1 maybe 2 players in attack and it breaks down too easily.

Piece of piss this football management lark. smile

One of our many challenges is that Pogba cost a fortune and so we almost can't drop someone we've spent so much on.

Well we can't wish that he gets injured to have an enforced rest. Mourinho will drop him if he's not performing. Pretty sure of that.

And that is what will breed some discontent in the ranks, as I'm sure some of the players might feel it is the manager who isn't performing. At least with Klopp, it looks like they're all in it together. I don't get that feeling with maureen, partly down to his ego, ill-grace and increasing paranoia.

Got to be one of the hardest parts of the job, keeping a bunch of multi-millionaires happy when they're not playing.

And yet despite the doom and gloom we are 6 points off the top, it's nothing.
But it doesn't look like you're about to start putting in performances that will make up that deficit. In fact, if anything, the opposite looks more likely, especially with the fixtures coming up.

We could score a fluky winning goal off Smalling's arse. Anything can happen.

From what I read (didn't see highlights, not a Manc), but I thought Pogba was meant to have been really good against Fenebache 3 days earlier. So why would you drop him. How is the manager meant to know he'd go from very good to woeful in 72 hours?

Bit of a poor message to write in his birthday card but it's needed saying (and doing) for a good while. Just nobody's had the bottle. This is one thing Jose will do - it might ruffle feathers but I don't care, nobody in our squad should have a divine right to play.
