The committee needs changing, wasn't the rumour we were bringing in the Seville bloke?

I don't necessarily blame the committee for last summer. Lovren, Lallana and Lambert were Mr Rodgers signings. Can, Mario, Moreno and Laser were no doubt identified by the committee. On the whole they were all pretty poor. Its not just about the players we bring in, its the way we play them. Wasn't this one of the concerns FSG had towards Mr Rodgers?

Mr Rodgers after the game yesterday said something like we had a long long way to go to get where we want to be. I really don't think thats the case. We need to play 433 or 4312 and stick with it to get some familiarity. To make this work we need coming in to the 1st team

1 full back
1 centre back
1 strong central midfielder
1 striker

Nor do I think this is about money. Putting aside the Sterling sale we should get rid of Toure, Lovren, Enrique, Allen/Lucas, Aspas, Alberto, Lambert, Borini maybe Mario. There's the best part of 50 million there. Add any Sterling money and our usual budget we'll have over 100 million to spend this summer. There is no way you'd trust the same people/system as last summer is there?

No LFC dog?! That's a shame, would provide us with something interesting to distract us from the shower of ste on the pitch!

The Mike Bernard account has been saying the TC is being overhauled for a while - but they're not due to speak to their targets for it for a week or 2. That account also suggests De Boer is their preference if BR goes. But clearly that's not as imminent as everyone here would like (or as certain).

I'm sure I have seen him a number of times called

If they're keeping him it'll only be to save money off his contract. I'm certain if this happens it'll cost them by Xmas where they'll have blown more money, be forced to sack him and risk not having a world class manager readily available.

As for the last paragraph. Milner (he's average and as a squad filler fine but not a starting 11 player), Origi (named in the worst team in France) and Ings who can fight it out with Origi to be 4th choice striker. These potential signings are just crazy. No way will they improve our starting 11. FSG and the company Yes Man are worse than the last owners.

I understand your frustrations, but where do you think this Magic wand is going to come from to make world class players
a) available
b) affordable
c) willing to sign for us

Chelsea need another striker, if not two, as do United... Who do you think any available striker is going to sign for?

Sad situation for us but that is the harsh reality, we are shopping in the second & maybe even third tier for the forseeable future, we just have to hope we can unearth some gems.

We shouldn't be anywhere near Ings if we've already got Origi. We'll buy him because he's cheap.

As for who is good enough and would come to us, last season we could have had Remy or Bony. This summer I'd rather Benteke ahead of Ings and Berahino ahead of Origi, who lets face it, is going to be nothing more than a 10 million pound bench warmer. Both would come to us and would be better than what we have.

Benteke, Berahino, Sturridge, Mario

Funny you mention Bony, BR wanted him, but committee overruled because of wages and went with Balo....

Yes we could have had Remy, but that was over ruled on medical grounds.

Benteke, no doubt a good player, is very injury prone as , do we need two sicknote strikers?

You could always give some of the youth team a chance , it does work with some clubs.

Getting Passion to play for the club is better than just buying a big name whom doesn't give a st. just my opinion of course.

Heaven forbid we do anything as forward planning as growing our own superstars... banghead

When did he want Bony?

Mr Rodgers if anything has shown that he doesn't have an eye for a player. I think if he does stay he'll have all of this taken off him this summer.

Berahino? 14 league goals this season. Would get 20 I think here. We'll get Ings because he's 'free', even though we don't aspire to play a style that will suit him.

I agree with BCM about growing your own, which is why I'd just promote Ibe rather than buy a Sterling replacement or another European winger. Also the 4th striker really should be emerging talent from the reserves imo.

Absolutely no chance we will be signing Berahinio as he is represented by Aidy Ward

I just watched the MOTD highlights finally. Car crash defending. Can should never ever be played in defence again. He's not a defender and shouldn't play there, ever. Skrtel needs to keep Sakho on a lead to stop him running off into challenges he loses.

While it was nice to see Stevie breaking through the middle as of old and scoring...his lack of pace was there to see and at least 1 of the Stoke defenders really didn't try to keep with him and stopped running. Starting the game with no striker in the starting 11 is unforgiveable. We are Liverpool; we deserve better than that. Reminds me of Hodgson and his caution; his "just happy not to concede and lose" attitude. We need a manager who wants to play football and attack.

talking of Bony and Remy, they have hardly played for City/Chelsea and have not set the world on fire so I don't think they would have done any better for us.
Think Origi should be loaned out to an English team to see how he gets on.

We need a couple of top class signings, players that have class, experience and can fit straight in to the firs team - going to be struggle to find anyone that would come to us though. BR needs to decide what formation he will try and play next season and try and get players to fit that formation, rather than half decent players with no idea whether they will fit in

Spot on - not sure why people think they would have been transformed into miracle workers if they'd worn a red shirt. Origi presumably will be proving himself in the second eleven to start with I guess, unless he performs amazingly in pre season.

I honestly don't think anyone of any note would come to LFC now while BR is there. I think with him there, with the season we've had, the end of season collapse we just witnessed, we are toxic. Really unappealing, regardless of "being Liverpool" - that doesn't cut it. Need a fresh start I think.

fully agree, Sinclair should have been a fixture 2nd half of the season.
