I agree RT and that is my point. We need players/strikers now. Origi may go on and be a superstar striker - he may be the next Henry in a few years time (we can pray)... but right now the questions I would actually be posing are:

1. Does he actually improve the squad we currently have?
2. Were we in a position last season to spend money on a player that was not going to strengthen the curreny playing squad?
3. Would the £10m been better spent towards as a contribution on a striker that Rodgers would have actually played for more than 50% of the season had they actually been fit?
Those who watched him have known his head has been in Liverpool for the past 12 months it would seem.

What many on here don't get is that there is now a big problem, well two, with FSG plan. its basically lets buy the superstars of tomorrow today, for much less and develop them. We get success and if they leave we get a big cheque.

Problem 1 - When they are developing into big stars they now want big wages or will leave, see Sterling for details. So you always live on jam tomorrow
Problem 2- other clubs with greater resources are now covering this angle by buying every year the 4-5 or give great prospects and loaning them out, call it the chelsea model. They stay out on loan until a) the mother club needs them back as they have matured enough b) they don't develop and are sold.

So FSG model has two problems to over come there. Plus when we do go for established players, Ayre steps up and bungles the deal. Its going to be along summer

Rodgers probably staying, Kolo has signed a new contract.... Next season is over already
Don't forget the superstar Origi joining our squad too! Finished in L'Equipe "Worst Ligue 1 players" this season. Another donkey of a gem uncovered. I dont care if he is 20 - he is not good enough to be anywhere near the Liverpool team. Went on a 20 game barren spell this season too in a 2nd tier European League and will probably go to be another El Hadji Diouf. I'd be loaning him out to a Championship team next season and see how he cuts it there.
fk me.

1. Have you seen Origi play? Even on tv?
2. What position has Origi been playing this season?
3. How have Lille been playing?
4. How old is he and how far along in his development?
5. What type of player is he, what are his strengths and weaknesses?

Once you've considered these questions and know the answers you can deem Origi as not good enough for Liverpool. Oh, and seeing him play for us for a bit would help your decision making process too.

Yours in exasperation,

Phil x
1. People that have seen him play have made a judgement to put him in the worst team line up in France
2. By all accounts a striker but then this is irrelevant as Mr Rodgers will also try him out as wing back
3. Who cares? We've had a crap season but it won't stop other teams happily taking Sterling or Coutinho off our hands if they could
4. So at best another 4th choice striker that it would make more sense to loan out because given the choice Mr Rodgers would rather play without a striker than the 3 he has available to him
5. His weaknesses outweigh his strengths at the moment and his strengths aren't enough to make any real difference to us

He won't play for us a bit next season Phil. It would be folly to think that he can help us improve any time soon if at all. Another one 'for the future'. We need players for the now.

1. Probably yes
2. Yes, you always have to invest in the future
3. Definitely

I think we all feel the same - we need some players for the first XI.

But personally I'd like to see young development players given a chance with fans lowering their expectations and not jumping on their backs immediately. Especially if they haven't even pulled on the shirt yet...

Bad day = bad season. I have zero interest in seeing them having so much fun after raking in their wages for so little effort. Sod 'em.

I don't so much begrudge him his leaving party as them showing off to all "their fans" by way of a video of them singing a fan song. Maybe I take footy and the amount they earn too seriously.

Lovely bit of hindsight again in some ways. Everyone last summer was banging on about how it was a good signing last summer. Go and check the posts if you don't believe me. Even RT if I remember correctly!

I use Kodi loads, it's ace. I use the OpenELEC version running on Raspberry Pis, rather than those though. Get the Yatse Remote App if you've a compatible phone, it's the best remote control going.

I use the LiveStreams add-on which works with Live Online Footy if you still have an account with them and know where it moved to. Great for the F1, football and Sky Sports Channels.
