I agree Sye. Mr Rodgers though experienced European competition for the first time this season. Yes he failed, the question is what did he learn?

You know already that I think he's miles away from being able to compete here.

Which is great for them, but they don't support teams that have a history of competing at the highest level in Europe including having been semi finalists, runners up and champions in the last 10 years.

Great match though. smile
Don't really get your point? Seville now in champions league for winning that plus the players and fans have an unforgettable night ...
Much better way of getting in champs league, would rather win that than get 2nd 3rd or 4th
I'm talking about the expectations of the fans rather than the experience itself. When you have the kind of record we do at the top level in Europe (including recent success) you cannot expect fans to be excited at playing tier 2 football that historically has a negative overall affect rather than positive one. The financial benefits are average, there's not enough prestige to attract top players and the number of games and travelling involved puts extra pressure on a squad that is already renowned for a lack of depth.

I hope to god we do win it next year as my concern is that it trying to do so we will fare no better in the league and be lucky to qualify for European football at all...

Klopp.

I see Ancelotti as a journeyman who does well with established sides that have plenty of money. Klopp could be the start of something new and interesting and attract players to the club.

Neither are available (well, not immediately).

Ancelotti has said he's having back surgery and will take a year off.

Klopp has said he wants to take a minimum 6 months out.

Klopps has come out and refuted that claim

Lets hope so. Klopp would be well worth getting rid of BR.

At least Klopp has won some stuff!

I hope you're right Sye, as above he'd certainly be my choice if he's interested. We could do with a bit of passion and fire about now to shake things up.

He has said several times England is where he wants to go - not many others looking for anyone, we have a great connection with dortmund, not just YNWA...

I just dont think BR is going to get sacked this summer .....

I would guess that Klopps interested and BR staying are intrinsically linked

I would say before the last 2 games of the season that there was no chance of BR being sacked and I wanted him stay.
after the last 2 games, I would not care if he is sacked but who knows what is in the minds of the owners- has he enough credit in the bank for the rest of the season and the good run we did have

Interesting they think Markovic and Lovren will stay. There are some stories that Lovren will go and Markovic might go out on loan to toughen him up a bit. Be interesting to see what happens.
