If Rodgers is here next season then we'll finish mid table again. I have no doubt of that. I also think that the only reason he is staying is because it financially suits FSG rather than any likelihood of progress being made on the pitch. If he stays I am more certain than ever that FSG will sell us as a sleeping giant with huge potential at a massive profit once the stadium refurbishment is complete. In their own way I think they are just as bad as the previous American owners.

Milner will no way play centre midfield in a 2 man partnership. If he does he'll have to be next to a tactically and physically strong defensive midfielder. The closest we have to that is Lucas. I'm also certain that Rodgers will find a way of fitting his boy Joe Allen into the team at any and every opportunity.

As for the question on who we should buy. It's not for me to say, I've shared what I think are the positions we need filling and the types of players we should sign.

Apart from the fact we are not about to bankrupt and potentially not even exist

Did you see the games Milner played last year RT?? not quite someone who doesn't play the big games - him not playing at our ground is probably because we are not a big game for them wink

UTD did it right last year - doubts and rumblings so made a couple of massive exciting signings and that bought goodwill and got the fans buzzing. Even though they (the signings) were pretty crap over the season.

Doubt we will do this so we will just have to hope that the likes of Ings and Milner gel and we hit the ground running for a strong fifth finish.

Can't fking wait.

I always had Milner down as more of a RM/RW more than a CM. I assume he'd prefer to play CM and that's a condition of signing with Liverpool.

Good player though and very underrated.

Yeah think he has been shoved out there more due to his engine and ability to get up and down - for the money 5/6m no one can really say he is a bad signing. He will not only improve our squad but our team.

Brendan Rodgers will stay as #LFC manager after meeting with Tom Werner. All parties agreed improvements must be made

I'm not a lemming. Mr Rodgers is a Yes man. FSG just want to make money. Getting behind the club is hounding all of these money grabbing scumbags out of the club I support.

How rich are you feeling? £1,000 to a charity of your choice that this mid table big mouth finishes outside of the top 4 next season. That's if he makes it to the end of the season.

The fans that attend matches have turned against him. Start like we finished the season and he'll be gone by Xmas.

The current top 4 will just get stronger & stronger & the rest of us won't .

It's that simple.

This is sadly the truth, and unless a team outside the top 4 is willing to spend big then it will continue to be the truth.

Just so I understand the ground rules for the summer and season ahead: "money grabbing scumbags" does that refer to FSG, Rodgers or both?

Is Rodgers a Yes man, or a Fraud or both?

What odds are you offering on a top 4 finish with Rodgers at the helm? (if that is what the bet is)

Tick Tock?
He's not even definitely made the start of the season yet.

ps. I think you should be allowed a dispensation and to call him a few names until the end of the transfer window.

That's just for the last season. Also, it's about where a player is played. Just look at Sterling as wing back.

If Milner was playing week in week out and a regular feature of the Manchester City team there is not a chance he would want to leave that team for a mid table manager and a mid table team.

Maybe his trophy cabinet is full ...

fk knows what he'd want to play for Rodgers

Money grabbing scumbags, both the owners and Mr Rodgers.

You put £1,000 up so will I. If we finish in the top 4 I'll pay it if not you pay it. I'll even extend it to a trophy.

Mr Rodgers is a fraud and a Yes man.

thanks for clarifying. I hope we finish top 4 but but don't believe we will so I'll pass on the bet without odds thanks.
I reckon next year will be more of the same (i.e. not like 13/14)

Got it on Rodgers. FYI - I like "mountebank" or "charlatan" alternatives for fraud and "flunkey" "minion" "lickspittle" or the evergreen "puppet" as alternatives for "yes man".

A bit of variety will help as I think it could be a long summer and an even longer season.

edit:
PS as you are calling him a scumbag I think it is OK to drop the "Mr" in future
