As for my call on FSG retaining Mr Rodgers, my opinion is that they've done it because the manager they want isn't available yet and that he'd cost a lot to sack. I don't think sucessful business men like FSG really still believe that Mr Rodgers is capable of top 4.
We know. Successful has two "c"s btw. But seriously - we know your opinion of "Mr Rodgers". Let's just see what the summer brings, try and focus on the positive and see what the new season brings.
So you also don't have an opinion but rather want to spend your time critiquing mine. Thats fine by me.

We agree then that Mr Rodgers has been backed and its now all down to him. It'll be a phenomenal season I'm sure.

With regard to losing the dressing room after Real Madrid - I too was very pissed off when he picked that team and the real low point was a week or so later when we lost to UTD 3-0

However the facts are soon after that defeat we went on a very long run undefeated and climbed the league to such an extent that until the disgraceful end to the season top 4 was not just possible but actually likely. So the facts don't back up that he lost the dressing room on that night.

So we can also agree that you have been wrong in every previous pronouncement regarding Rodgers and FSG can we?

I see Gerrard has spoken out.
Care to share?

Says being left out against Real hastened his exit.
I'm certain that Mr Rodgers lost the dressing room that night.
What are you basing your certainty on?

All I can see for definite is Gerrard saying it hastened his departure when he should have been leaving anyway.

My certainty is based upon the football I witnessed week in week out that ended with 6 being put past us by Stoke. Of course by all means have a different opinion.

Gerrard throughout his career has backed the manager and even signings like Joe Cole who he likened to Messi. I think that when he speaks out he is being reserved.

Wrong again - I have an opinion, which I've shared on here. I just don't keep repeating it. On many points I agree with you. But I'd rather see how the new signings work out before pronouncing doom and gloom. That doesn't mean I think we'll have a phenomenal season.

Its inevitable when you spend almost every post repeating the same thing that people will "critique your opinion". Seems to me you seem to like repeating yourself just to wind certain people up.

Still ignoring the long undefeated run we went on. Surely if he lost the dressing room it would have started after the defeat. You could look at it a different way - had a terrible run before, had the Madrid game and Man U game, then went on a big undefeated run... looks a different picture if you do it that way perhaps?

The other thing is if Gerrard was any other player would we have wanted him to stay with us longer? To be honest in my opinion no.

"I'm playing for one of the most famous, if not the most famous club in the world, playing in Europe and challenging for titles."

Is it in their contract they have to be quoted with that in their first interview? They all seem to say it!

I think this is our main problem. Most if not all the players we sign see Liverpool as a massive step up in THEIR career - like they've made it, which is probably true. However does that translate to Liverpool also making the step up? We could do with one or two more Milner-type signings.

It amazes me that teams like Liverpool put out official pictures of players wearing the shirt, that are still subject to a medical. Loic Remy anyone?
