Coates confirmed as left.

Shame never quite fulfilled his potential with us.

Bar a couple of metrics they seem to be quite similar in the stats department. Obviously those in that graphic have been cherry picked.

Stats that Clyne wins

Within that bunch there are a couple of real good stats: Goals, Total Forward Passes, Total Shots, Interceptions.

So, all you've really highlighted is that you paid more, 6 years ago, for a player with very similar stats, however ours is 5 years younger...

Or I was proving that stats are utter bks on their own and can be manipulated to show what the author wants. For the avoidance of doubt, in the RB position I would take Clyne over Valencia in a heartbeat and if we don't sign Coleman or a.n other at RB and stick with Tony V then I will be disappointed.

Any reason why? I thought Valencia was one of your better and more consistent players last season?

He did OK defensively but he is pretty gash going forward, crosses rarely beat the first defender, never crosses with his left so its easier for defenders.

Mainly though he's no spring chicken and I think Clyne will improve for you and overall be better in that position than Tony V

Nah just a cheeky dig at some of the stats masters in here, never had an issue with JB, always found him to be one of the more sensible posters on here

This Is Anfield are reporting this morning that BR is expected to bring in a 3rd new appointment to his staff - rumoured to be an ex player. Gary Mac, Sami and Bolo Zenden all names mentioned as "rumoured". Clearly that might be names picked out of a hat.

Zaf Iqbal, our doc who left in Jan for family reasons has joined Crystal Palace.

We're looking to send Manquillo home a year early.

There's a rumour that we've offered £22m and Lambert and Enrique to Villa for Benteke. God thinks we should sign him too

And lastly, that Barca kid has signed:
